NAF Canada rears its ugly head

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) registered in Canada as a "charity" in 2009. For 11 years NAF Canada's presence here had been pretty much non existent. Just check out their income statements at CRA.

The last time they reported to CRA in 2020, this was their income:

Receipted donations $45,000.00 (34.76%)
Non-receipted donations $68,863.00 (53.19%)
Gifts from other registered charities $0.00 (0.00%)
Government funding $4,599.00 (3.55%)
All other revenue $11,012.00 (8.51%)

Total revenue: $129,474.00

In 2020 NAF had one full time employee who earned $108,829, and one part-time employee who earned 6,945. Like all pro-abortion organizations, compensation is very lucrative when your business is supporting/engaged in the killing of children in the womb. That's 84% of their revenue going to one salary. Can you imagine a pro-life group using 84% of their income to pay someone that much money? No, I can't either.

Previous to 2020, their only government funding was for two summer job program grants ($4,854 in 2021 and $4,654 in 2020). (Why did an inactive company even need those two interns? But I digress.)

Well that's all changed now. NAF Canada just received $1,469,150 in government funding in March 2022. Because clearly Canada needed more pro-abortion advocacy groups.

It will be sad to see how the baby killing industry continues to expand in Canada under Canada's most pro-abortion prime minister we've ever had.

Oh, and let's watch and see how many more high paying pro-abortions will be added to the ranks of NAF Canada.

Stay tuned. I'm watching you NAF Canada.

Pro-abortion Planned Parenthood Toronto received $11,448,591 from governments

Remember how the pro-abortions had their knickers in a twist about pro-life groups receiving $1.8 million from the Canada Summer Jobs Program? Well Planned Parenthood Toronto received over $11 million from governments. ($11,448,591 to be exact). That's one organization compared to 56 organizations.

Can you say 'Discrimination much'?

And look at what compensations are like for Planned Parenthood Toronto. Almost $3 million in one year. With the top pro-abort earning between $120,000 to $159,999. Compare that to say, the top gun at Toronto Right to Life who makes $39,999.  And receives no government funding.

What more can I say?

Why the pro-aborts hate the movie Unplanned

Today I saw the movie Unplanned for the third time.

I counted 54 people in the theatre; Maureen counted 60. Not a bad turnout for a sunny Sunday afternoon when most people were probably outside soaking up the gorgeous July sun, a picture perfect summer day that was neither too humid nor too hot.

Here are the reasons the pro-aborts hate this movie, in no particular order.

  • It is a movie of hope--that people can and do turn their back on their support for abortion
  • Praying outside abortion clinics can and does reduce the number of abortions
  • Women can and do regret their abortions
  • Planned Parenthood really is all about the abortions and not about other health services
  • Abortion doctors make a lot of money from abortions
  • Planned Parenthood is funded by some very big names
  • Planned Parenthood took Abby Johnson to court and lost
  • Pro-life people really do care about the women who have abortions
  • Praying for loved ones who support abortion really can and does make a difference
  • The devil may be in the details but God is in the movie
  • Pro-life lobbying finally brought Unplanned to a theatre near you--in Canada no less. Who could have predicted that? Justin Trudeau, feminist extraordinaire, eat your heart out.

And last but definitely not least--all the huffing and puffing from Canada's loud radical extreme abortion lobby helped Unplanned to succeed at the box office. I never thought I'd thank the pro-abortions for anything. I was wrong.

The wisest words come out of the mouths of pro-life people

"Post-abortive women implode, post-abortion men explode"
"Operation rescue was instrumental in making the pro-life movement what it is today"
"Abortion is as repulsive as cannibalism and slavery"
Jason Jones
One of my favourite podcasts is from my friend Jonathon Van Maren's unbelievably fantastic podcast. Jonathon discusses many topics. But it's mostly his pro-life episodes that I listen to, where he interviews some of the most amazing pro-life people who live on plant earth.

I am always stunned how dedicated, insightful, hard working, and just plain interesting these people are. They blow me away. The quotes above are from such a recent podcast Jonathon had with Jason Jones.

You know if you compare what comes out of the mouths of pro-lifers, to what comes out of the mouth of the pro-abortions...well there really is no comparison.

The pro-aborts like to say things like my body my choice (a lie), women have a charter right to abortion (a lie), abortion is health care (a lie), and many other such non truths. They really have nothing of import to say at all about abortion. I guess that's because there really is nothing good one can say about abortion. So their words are empty and meaningless and chock full of euphemisms. Of course, what can one say about the killing of defenseless, innocent, tiny human beings that makes any sense to anyone? Not much.

Listening to smart people like those who Jonathon interviews, gives me hope that we will win this culture war. The United States is doing it now. We in Canada can learn from our American friends. We can do it too.

Pro-aborts have the money - pro-lifers have the truth

I am totally invigorated. This is pro-life week in Ottawa. That's with or without Jim Watson's proclamation, which I'm pretty sure we won't be getting this year. Tomorrow is the annual March for Life.

Last night I was blessed to attend the second showing of the movie Unplanned. It was even better the second time around. Watching it again, I really understand why the pro-aborts don't want this film shown in Canada. It will change people's mind about abortion. The pro-abortions don't want that to happen. Abortion is big money. Planned Parenthood is backed by big money. Warren Buffett donates to Planned Parenthood. Bill Gates donates to Planned Parenthood. The Clinton Foundation donates to Planned Parenthood. You get the picture.

After the last showing I read the pro-aborts' tweets where they propagated their usual nonsense that the movie was full of lies. It isn't. I find that kind of funny actually. The pro-aborts just lie so much they don't even know anymore they are lying. I think they might actually believe their lies. Funny but sad.

A little bit of what Abby Johnson told us taken from my notes.
"The Truth offends. They [the pro-aborts] don't worry about offending us, so why should we worry about offending them? We need to speak the truth. Be honest. We must tell our personal stories. We should not be afraid. I don't live in fear. Maybe that's a grace. I am not interested in their [the pro-abort's] opinions of me. I don't walk in fear. Fear is so cumbersome. Fear is what drives people into the abortion clinic. And when you ask God for something watch out...
When I went to the Episcopal Church it was very pro-choice. The pastor would send women to me. [The church] used their religious beliefs to promote abortion. They would pray at the opening of Planned Parenthood's buildings. When I turned [on Planned Parenthood] I was told I couldn't go to my church anymore. Or to any Episcopal Church in America. My new friends were all Catholic. [Abby then speaks about her conversion to the Catholic faith]. I am also being called to be an apologist for my faith. As long as you are on the side of the Lord you are on the side of truth."

(Abby's organization And Then There Were None)

And that's why I am so hopeful. I needed to be reminded by Abby that we have the truth on our side. The pro-abortions do not. That is why the pro-aborts simply do not stand a chance. We don't have the money big abortion has. But we have the truth.

Two sides of the pro-life coin

This week I listened to someone who shared a first hand account of what crisis pregnancy centres deal with every day. It broke my heart.

Without going into detail because of privacy--and I already knew this--CPCs and the people who work there are truly nothing like what the radical-hate-crisis-pregnancy-centre crowd will tell you. They are the most amazing loving caring compassionate people I have ever met. Each and every one of them. And I thank God they exist. Because I could not do that work.

But what I can tell you is this. The women who come to visit CPCs, and the people who work there need our prayers and our support, and especially lots of prayers.

What I am able to do, by the grace of God, is to go on my weekly visit to the nursing home where my sister Maureen and I volunteer every week. Even though some days I don't want to go. Like this week. I almost turned around and went home again. But I didn't and I'm glad I stayed.

One of the women who I've visited for the past three years passed away this week. She was a dear woman; nearly totally deaf; always in pain from sitting too long in her chair; who always loved when I or my sister would visit her. I would usually say a prayer with her and she was always thankful for this too.

After hearing this sad news, things looked up when Maureen and I took three residents outside to sit in the sun, to sing a few songs, and wear silly hats, and, this is the best part, laugh.

Maureen actually got one of the three who at first wasn't in a laughing mood, to laugh. And she LOVED her hat. That made my day.

There is such a need for volunteers to visit nursing homes. There are so many people there who don't get visitors. Who are alone. Who appreciate wearing a silly hat. Or saying a prayer. Or just someone to listen to them. Or to hold their hand.

It's really a blessing that I can go.

New FOI reveals even less evidence for abortion bubble zone

Remember I told you about the police reports at 65 Bank St. for 2014 to June 2017? There were 64 incidents in 41 months. That's 1.56 incidents per month. Of those 64 incidents, there were no injuries and no charges laid.

Today I received more information from the police reports. This time for 2010-2013. There were 113 incidents in 48 months. That's 2.35 incident per month. Out of those 113 incidents, there were--once again--no injuries and no charges laid.

This means that in the most recent period (2014 to June, 2017), the number of police reports have actually decreased by 33.6% from the previous three year period (2010 to 2013).

So why do we need a bubble zone at all?

Also remember that the abortion bubble zone law is a direct result of Ottawa mayor Jim Watson who discriminates against pro-life people. Watson initiated this law. Watson also took down our pro-life flag at city hall during the March for Life. Watson also refused to respond to my repeated requests for an explanation for why our March for Life was rerouted so 100 masked thugs could divert 14,000 peaceful people.

I guess we could call Ottawa the abortion capital of the world:

  • No protection for life and no protection for the rights of those who defend life
  • Justin Trudeau is the most pro-abortion federal leader ever
  • Kathleen Wynne and Patrick Brown are the most pro-abortion provincial leaders ever. I guess you could say two for the price of one
  • And now we can add Jim Watson as the most pro-abortion mayor ever

China and North Korea have nothing on Canada. How embarrassing.

Pierre Lemieux - a woman's right to be a mother

The only people who could "strongly dislike" this kind of legislation are people like Joyce Arthur and her pro-abortion friends. Unbelievable but true. Can you even imagine not supporting a bill that would protect an unborn child that a woman has chosen to give birth to? No I can't imagine it either.

Kudos to Pierre Lemieux for announcing this.

Introducing legislation that protects expectant moms and their unborn children will be a priority in a Lemieux government.
How do you feel about this position?
I love it
I like it
I am indifferent
I have concerns
I strongly dislike it
Government has the duty to protect our country’s most vulnerable - to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

And yet for a mother who has chosen to bear her child, there is no law that recognizes that the life of her unborn baby was violently taken from her against her will if she is the victim of a violent assault.

Under current Canadian law, if an expectant mother is assaulted and her child dies as a result, the charge is assault against the mother.  Her baby’s life was taken from her through a criminal act - and yet the loss of her baby’s life is not recognized under the law.

It is a grave injustice that there is no legal recognition of the loss of an expectant mother’s unborn baby through a violent criminal act.

When a woman chooses to become a mother, no one should have the right to take that away from her.

I will show actual leadership by addressing this injustice with a government bill. Private Members have done incredible work trying to advance this through the House, but simply allowing a Private Members Bill to proceed is no longer enough.

As leader and as future Prime Minister of Canada, inspired by previous bills introduced by Conservative MPs, I will introduce legislation that will criminalize the killing of unborn children against the will of expectant mothers.

With this law, an offender will be charged not only with assault on the expectant mother, but also with the death of her unborn child.
Legislation such as this is supported by Canadians, including many of my fellow leadership candidates - even those with different views on when life begins.

Introducing and passing this legislation will unite Conservatives and Canadians - and is necessary to protect the rights of expectant moms.

Let me know what you think by clicking the survey above.

Sincerely,

CPCs pose threat to abortion cartel’s bloodthirsty cause

"... the abortion lobby has zero to show for its 40-year effort to expose pregnancy help centers as the hives of scum and villainy “they” would have us—or in many cases, legislators—believe.
It’s not for lack of trying either. Every one of the 2,600 pregnancy help locations in the U.S. poses an immanent threat to the abortion cartel’s bloodthirsty cause. The abortion lobby is well aware of that fact, and has been fighting tooth and nail against pro-life alternatives to abortion ever since the late 1960s, as abortion was legalized at state levels prior to Roe v. Wade.
In 2000, the nation’s leading abortion lobby group, NARAL Pro-Choice America, released a pamphlet entitled, “Unmasking Fake Clinics,” which has set the trajectory for every attack on pregnancy centers since. Periodically released national and state-level attacks (see examples here, here and here) have appeared ever since, rehearsing the same tired and baseless claims that uniformly fail to point out any wrongdoing on the part of a pregnancy center.
Just pro-lifers serving women with free, community-supported, life-affirming care. Nothing to see here. Thanks for stopping in, officer..."
Here in Canada we have our very own pro-abortions do their darnedest to do the same here in Canada. Read the whole article. Worth the read.

Sing a little louder - the holocaust of unborn children

I hope Joyce Arthur and "Fern Hill" watch this film.

https://vimeo.com/188304069

Pro-abortion people really hate it when we compare the slaughter of the unborn by abortion to the Holocaust. They hate it because they know it's the truth. And they really hate the truth.

Will the CBC ever get it?

I received this email from the CBC yesterday. My response is below it.

---------------------

August 26, 2016

Dear Ms Maloney,

Thank you for your e-mail of July 23rd, addressed to Esther Enkin, CBC Ombudsman, drawing our attention to an interview on CBC News Network with Dr. Wendy Norman on July 6th about government restrictions placed on the dispensing of the RU-486 abortion pill.

Since CBC News Network is my responsibility, Jennifer McGuire, General Manager and Editor in Chief of CBC News, asked me to reply.

In your complaint about the interview by Heather Hiscox, you wrote that the segment was "another example of CBC abortion bias". You countered Dr. Norman's views that the restrictions are "unusual' and "bizarre", by saying that RU-486 is a "dangerous drug" and pointing to regulations in the United States making RU-486 available only in "certain healthcare settings, specifically clinics, medical offices and hospitals, by or under the supervision of a certified prescriber."

I would argue that the interview was not presented as part of a debate as to whether the drug is safe for use in Canada.  Had it been, it would have been reasonable to hear from an opponent of the drug on that basis.

The interview was, instead, focused on access to the recently approved drug.  In that context, it is my view that the coverage was fair and balanced.

In the online story on this matter, it's pointed out that the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada wrote to Health Canada to express concerns about the rules and accessibility of RU-486 writing, "dispensing by physicians is not normal practice (and could be a conflict of interest) and has the potential to create additional barriers for patient access."

I would add that in the interview on CBC News Network, Dr. Norman herself explains why she used the words "unusual" and "bizarre" saying that "in Canada for many years the safety mechanisms for drugs have required pharmacists to dispense them" and she went on to use the example of methadone being dispensed by pharmacists rather than by physicians.

Thank you again for your e-mail. I appreciate you taking the time to write with your views to CBC News Network.

It is also my responsibility to tell you that if you are not satisfied with my response, you may wish to ask Esther Enkin, CBC Ombudsman, to review the matter. The Office of the Ombudsman, an independent and impartial body reporting directly to the President, is responsible for evaluating program compliance with the CBC's journalistic policies. The Ombudsman may be reached by mail at Box 500, Terminal A, Toronto, Ontario M5W 1E6, or by fax at (416) 205-2825, or by e-mail at ombudsman@cbc.ca.

Yours sincerely,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear CBC Ombudsman Esther Enkin,

I would like to make a complaint about what I believe is bias with the reporting of the story on RU-486 as detailed below.

(As an aside, Jennifer Harwood disagreed with me and noted that I could make an official complaint, as this is apparently her responsibility she stated. I find this surprising, since the last time I made a complaint of CBC bias on your RU-486 reporting, I was never told that my complaint was not with the Ombudsman, when I assumed that it was, since I had actually sent that complaint to the Ombudsman in the first place. I see this time, this fact was explicitly brought to my attention.)

Ms. Harwood says that the interview in question was not part of a debate. This is a disingenuous argument. To mention in a news article on anything relating to abortion--always a politically and emotionally charged subject that elicits huge controversy every time it is mentioned--and not provide commentary from the opposing viewpoint is biased. CBC knows this. When Dr. Norman stated that the restrictions are unusual and bizarre (and CBC reiterated these adjectives in their tweet on the show when they stated: "It's very strange." reproductive health expert reacts to "bizarre" restrictions on #RU486 home abortion pill @cbchh), it seems clear to me that the CBC should have asked someone else to please explain this "strange bizarre unusual" behaviour, since Dr. Norman in the seven minute interview couldn't explain it.

Would this not have possibly shed some light on the "strange bizarre unusual" behaviour to put additional restrictions on this drug?

In fact the CBC has rarely if ever discussed any of the many dangers of RU-486. Here is some information about the dangers of this drug for an upcoming interview:
http://run-with-life.blogspot.ca/2015/02/ru-486-myth-1-drug-is-safe-and-effective.html
http://www.nps.org.au/publications/consumer/medicine-update/2013/mifepristone-misoprostol#sideeffects
http://run-with-life.blogspot.ca/2015/02/ru-486-myth-2-private-way-to-end.html
http://run-with-life.blogspot.ca/2015/01/more-reasons-why-ru-486-is-very-bad-idea.html

I suggest if the CBC would interview Dr. Renate Klein who wrote the book RU486: Misconceptions, Myths and Morals, to learn why this drug is dangerous and why this "strange bizarre unusual" behaviour to put additional restrictions on this drug are not actually "strange bizarre unusual" at all.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Sincerely,
Patricia Maloney

Trump - The lesser of two evils

Fred was surprised when I told him that I would vote for Donald Trump. As Ted Cruz said yesterday, all voters should vote their conscience. Well my conscience wouldn't let me vote for Hillary Clinton. Besides all of Clinton's scary shenanigans, she is horrendously pro-abortion.

Even though we know there are Canadian MPs who are pro-life, they are scared to death of saying or doing anything public about it. If they do they are shouted down and vilified. Both by other MPs and by the pro-abortions. Our Conservative party has gone from being pro-life to being pro-silent to being...pro-choice? I don't know, but their silence is deafening.

Not in the US. Republicans put their pro-life views into their policy paper: That the unborn child has a "fundamental right to life"; that it should be a crime to sell fetal tissue; that they are against assisted suicide and euthanasia; that they support assisting women who face unplanned pregnancies; that they support a Born-Alive Infant Protection Act; that they support Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Acts; that they are against sex-selection abortions and abortions based on disabilities; that they oppose embryonic stem cell research.

Republicans are not afraid to say they are pro-life. They are not afraid to act pro-life. And good grief, there are even pro-life Democrats down there. I'm pretty sure the Liberals and NDP are bereft of any pro-life MPs, at least any that will speak out that they are. Cowards? Or afraid?
"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be alarmed, for I am your God. I give you strength, truly I help you, truly I hold you firm with my saving right hand." Isaiah 41:10
Isaiah where are you when we need you?

And where does our fear/cowardice of saying we are pro-life get us? Absolutely nowhere. We have a 100% pro-abortion legal system, all paid for by the tax-payer. That's where not speaking out gets us. The US has all kinds of abortion restrictions. Tons of them. They are not afraid.

Plus, Donald Trump's running mate Mike Pence is unequivocally pro-life.

Yes. If I were American, I would have to vote for Donald Trump.

Begging the question about abortion

Why the Statement "A Woman Has the Right to Control Her Own Body" Begs the Basic Question in the Abortion Debate. By by Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr., Libertarians for Life, Copyright © 1978

(Posted with permission from the author)

Some people claim that abortion is legitimate because (i) a woman has a right to control her own reproduction, or (ii) a woman's body is her own property, and is therefore, rightfully subject to her exclusive control. Neither of these claims squarely supports the pro-abortionists.

I. First, a woman can control her own reproduction in three ways: viz., (i) by abstinence from sexual activity; (ii) by contraception; and (iii) by abortion. (She can also control it by destroying her offspring after birth; but very few pro-abortionists argue that infanticide is legitimate.) Now, no one doubts that a woman has a right to sexual abstinence and to contraception.  But her "right to abortion" is in issue. Therefore, to say that abortion is legitimate because a woman has a right to control her own reproduction merely begs the question: it merely says "a woman has a right to abortion because a woman has a right to abortion". This is not an argument, merely a fiat statement. And mere fiat is not enough.

II. Second, even if a woman's body is her own property (which no libertarian would deny), the question still remains whether the body of the unborn child is also the woman's property.

A. As a matter of biology, an unborn child is not "part of a woman's body" in the same sense that her liver, heart, or other organs are. It is a separate entity involved in a special symbiotic relationship with the woman, but not part of her. Therefore, the unborn child cannot be the woman's property in that sense.

B. To be sure, the unborn child lives inside the woman's body. But an entity does not necessarily become the property of an individual because it is in or on that individual's property. (Even a trespasser on someone else's land does not thereby become the landowner's property, in the sense that the landowner may do whatever he will with the trespasser.) The question remains whether the unborn child has a right or privilege to live within the woman until its birth. If it does, it cannot be the woman's property to dispose of as she sees fit.

C. Of course, the woman always has the physical power to abort, and thereby destroy the unborn child; and, in the sense that the child is always subject to that sort of physical control, one could say metaphorically that the child is the woman's "property" in a physical sense. But the question is whether the unborn child is the woman's property in a moral or legal sense: that is, whether it is right or just for her to exercise whatever physical power she possesses. (The murderer always has physical power over his victim. That may make the victim metaphorically his "property" in a physical sense; but it does not make murder moral. Mere temporary might does not make right -- at least not to libertarians.) Therefore, the mere physical power of the woman over the unborn child does not make the child the woman's property in any sense meaningful to the ethical debate over abortion.

III. In sum, the argument that abortion is legitimate because a woman has a right to control her own body simply misses the point: which is, what right does a woman have when certain of her actions endanger the body, and therefore the life, of another person, the unborn child? Every person has a right to control his own body; but this gives no one a right to use his body to injure another person's body through aggression. It is not enough, therefore, to talk about the woman's property right. What must be considered is (i) whether the unborn child, an entity separate from the woman, is a person entitled to its own rights; and, if so, (ii) what its rights are as against the woman. If the child is not a person, or is a person without rights, then (by logical necessity) it will be the woman's property. But if the child is a person with rights, then (by logical necessity) to the extent of those rights it cannot be the woman's property. To invoke a woman's "property rights" in support of abortion before these two questions are answered against the unborn child is not to support abortion with arguments -- but instead to avoid rational argument entirely.

(Dr. Vieira is an attorney practicing constitutional law.)

Pro-abortion doctor can't articulate dangers of RU-486

Here we have another grand example of CBC's abortion bias.

Heather Hiscox on CBC News interviews Wendy Norman (the abortion doctor/researcher) complaining about restrictions on dispensing the RU-486 abortion pill, legal in Canada as of July 1.

Wendy Norman says that the rules for dispensing the dangerous drug RU-486 are very unusual and were "bizarrely put in place", because doctors will have to dispense them to women, and that this will cause difficulty for women in remote areas.

First of all, here are the rules for dispensing RU-486 in the US. Seems like the US is doing exactly what Canada is doing, ie RU-486 must be dispensed by doctors.
"Mifeprex is supplied directly to healthcare providers who meet certain qualifications. It is only available to be dispensed in certain healthcare settings, specifically, clinics, medical offices and hospitals, by or under the supervision of a certified prescriber. It is not available in retail pharmacies, and it is not legally available over the Internet."
So Dr. Norman, maybe our rules are not really that "bizarre" after all?

In fact, there are actually a truckload of dangers associated with RU-486, especially in remote areas. But when Hiscox asks Dr. Norman why these dispensing precautions, Dr. Norman has no idea. I am not kidding. She basically she says she doesn't know why, that this is "very strange".

Has Dr. Norman never read any of the evidence on the dangers of this drug, especially when one considers women taking it in rural areas? Not a single word about the dangers come out of Dr. Norman's mouth. What she does say is this:
"We are hopeful that the extraordinary degree of evidence available around the world on this medication, it really only stops a pregnancy from growing in a safe and effective manner. (Notice Dr. Norman's euphemism for killing an unborn child but I digress)".
Finally, the last time I complained to CBC about their abortion bias, they wrote me off. Which I expected and wasn't surprised they did. This time they didn't even make any pretense about not being biased. Dr. Norman was the only person interviewed in an entire seven minute segment.

Nobody else who could actually speak of the dangers of this scary drug, was even bothered to be interviewed. Why am I not surprised?

Justin Trudeau is not a Christian phiosopher

"Justin never ended his quest for religious truth even when he converted to Christianity after years of studying various pagan philosophies.
As a young man, he was principally attracted to the school of Plato. However, he found that the Christian religion answered the great questions about life and existence better than the philosophers.
Upon his conversion he continued to wear the philosopher's mantle, and became the first Christian philosopher. He combined the Christian religion with the best elements in Greek philosophy. In his view, philosophy was a pedagogue of Christ, an educator that was to lead one to Christ.
Justin is known as an apologist, one who defends in writing the Christian religion against the attacks and misunderstandings of the pagans. Two of his so-called apologies have come down to us; they are addressed to the Roman emperor and to the Senate.
For his staunch adherence to the Christian religion, Justin was beheaded in Rome in 165."
How unlike St. Justin was from our own Justin Trudeau, whose pro-abortion beliefs are not based on Christian beliefs. Trudeau also discriminates against pro-life people in his party.

Same names. Different men.

Media buys into pro-abortion witch hunt of CPCs

Great rebuttal to Joyce Arthur's recent "study" (witch hunt) against crisis pregnancy centres in Canada.

I see that Anna Mehler Paperny of Global news has bought into Arthur's misinformation on CPC's.

Maybe they should instead educate themselves on Arthur's unrelenting campaign to discredit CPC's.

Joyce Arthur's study subtracts from the body of knowledge

I must confess I laughed at this post over at anonymous blogger's blog, about a "major study" by Joyce Arthur. "Fern Hill" even got her "name" on this so called "serious study".

Major and serious are not words I would ever attribute to anything Joyce Arthur writes.

The problem is, this is not at all funny. It looks like just one more witch hunt by Arthur and her pro-abortion friends. These people absolutely hate crisis pregnancy centres. They will stop at nothing to discredit them and bring them down. Why? Are they jealous of the care, love and support these centres provide women when face with an unexpected pregnancy? I think they are. Because all the pro-abortions care about is that women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy should choose to kill their unborn child. They don't care for the woman. And they definitely don't care about the child she is carrying.

A quick look at the "study" tells me that it is just a reheated version of Arthur's previous "study", where she went after CPCs in BC. In fact Brian Norton did a brilliant job of setting the record straight on Arthur's last "study". Which by the way, was funded by a $27,400 Status of Women Canada grant, a grant which Arthur never publicly acknowledged as per the agreement she signed with SWC. See here and here for more on that grant.

In this "study" Arthur and her anonymous friends only reviewed CPC websites. By her own admission this "study" doesn't even address how CPC's actually speak or support their clients.
"An important caveat of this study is that we examined only the websites of CPCs, which may not necessarily reflect their practices or counselling when they speak to clients in person or on the phone."
And then there's this gem. Arthur wants to add to the "body of knowledge" of CPC's.
"The aim of this study was to determine the presence of any deception or misinformation on the websites of Canadian CPCs. Due to the relative dearth of research on CPCs in Canada, we felt it important to add to the body of knowledge on the topic as we seek out opportunities to regulate these organizations. We expected to find that CPC websites would reflect the same type of misinformation and/or deception that other studies and investigations have found that people encounter when patronizing CPCs. While we did find significant misinformation, our study also found that many websites present an unbiased appearance and tend to conceal their agenda or give only subtle indications of it, presumably to attract (and not repel) or even trick women considering abortion into using their services."
Does Arthur really believe her shenanigans, deceptions and misinformation add anything to anything? And trick women? Who is trying to trick whom here? First clue. It's not CPC's.
