Pro-choice government alleviates poverty through abortion

"Our government is unapologetically and unequivocally pro-choice." Harjit Sajjan Minister of International Development

Harjit Sajjan is very proud of his government being "unapologetically and unequivocally pro-choice". But it's not enough that Canada is the most permissive country in the world when it comes to abortion. In Minister Sajjan's little video he seems awfully pleased that his government is now happily exporting Canada's extreme abortion ideology to 28 other countries.

"Since 2020 Canada has spent over a half billion dollars on "sexual and reproductive health and rights", in 28 countries, 4.5 million people have received "sexual and reproductive health services", and "abortion and post-abortion care" to over 76,000 women in 17 countries, to train 12,000 new " healthcare care" workers in the provision of this "sexual and reproductive care " in over 4,200 facilities."

In fact Canada has actually spent $1,224,874,902 on "sexual and reproductive health" since 2020, which includes abortion.

Nearly all of this 1 billion plus handout was actually supposed to alleviate poverty under the International Development Assistance Program:

"The main purpose on the International Development Assistance Program is to reduce poverty for those living in countries where Global Affairs Canada engages in international development."

Countries affected: Nicaragua, Mozambique, Uganda, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Togo, Syria, Iraq, Mali, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Philippines, Burkina Faso, Venezuela, Ghana, Haiti, Somalia, Jordan, Lebanon, and the occupied Palestinian territory, Afghanistan, etc.

Killing babies in the womb seems to be one of our government's answers to alleviating poverty in poor countries.

How the Ontario government hides costs spent on MAID

My recent FOI request to the Ontario Ministry of Health:

"Can you then please provide me with the fee codes that doctors are being told to use for MAID services...I would like to see whatever guide/memo/documentation that exists to inform doctors to appropriately bill for MAID services."

I received a Quick Reference Guide called OHIP Payments for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). (You won't find this document on the internet. I looked.)

Good grief--the Ontario government is telling doctors to use Palliative Care billing codes when they kill their patients:

"Procedural Planning and Case Management - K023 Palliative Care Support

• Discussions with other health care providers (e.g., physicians, pharmacist, coroner, CCAC) involved in management of the patient’s MAID

•Minimum of 20 minutes (cumulative) in a day of procedural planning/case management activity

• Medical record must indicate the name(s) of health care providers and the start and stop times

Provision of Medical Assistance in Dying - K023 Palliative Care Support

• Travel time for picking up and returning drugs used for the procedure

• Time spent with patient and family obtaining final consent

• Drug administration

• Pronouncement and certification of death

• Counselling of relatives

• Meeting reporting requirements

• Notification of the coroner’s office

• A maximum of two physicians are eligible to be paid K023 for the provision of medical assistance in dying.

K023 claims for procedural planning, case management, the provision of MAID and travel to patient’s home should be flagged to indicate patient encounter is for the provision of MAID. For these services, patient does not need to be palliative. (But they are using a code for palliative care and it doesn't have to be palliative care?)

Then this:

"If administration of the fatal dose of medication is by intravenous (IV), then G379 can be billed for insertion of the IV." (The charade continues.)

And this:

"A945 Special palliative care consultation is billed and time requirements are met (e.g., K023 is eligible for payment with A945 when duration of the consult exceeds 50 minutes)."

If you look at the Schedule of Benefits Physician Services Under the Health Insurance Act, nowhere does it say to use any of these codes for MAID. In fact MAID is never even mentioned at all in this 990 page document. Clearly a separate (hidden) document had to be created to guide doctors how to bill OHIP when they euthanize their patients. At least Quebec and Alberta don't hide their costs to kill patients.

So this is really a double cover up: 1) no accurate costs of the dollars spent to kill patients, and 2) inflate the dollars spent on Palliative Care.

The adjective wicked comes to mind.

There is no need to be close to death to get MAID

Dr. Stefanie Green, President, Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers wrote this letter to the National Post on June 7

Take on MAID disingenuous

Jun 7, 2023

Re: Third of Canadians back MAID for poor: poll — Tristin Hopper, May 18; Killing ourselves in Canada — Colby Cosh, May 20; and How to not euthanize the homeless — Chris Selley, May 2

A recent Research Co. poll asked Canadians for their views on the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) program.

Poll analyses by the National Post’s Tristin Hopper, Colby Cosh and Chris Selley unfortunately created an exaggerated and disingenuous narrative over Canadians’ attitudes over the possibility of choosing MAID due to catastrophic societal failures, such as poverty and homelessness.

The current state of Canada’s MAID law is clear — a Canadian who lives in poverty or is homeless is not eligible for MAID as a result of such unacceptable social inequities. While these factors may indeed contribute to a person’s suffering, the law does not allow access to MAID based on these factors alone. There is an extremely rigorous process in place whereby multiple eligibility criteria and procedural safeguards must all be met before anyone in Canada can proceed with MAID.

As subject matter experts, and as the national association representing Canada’s health-care practitioners of MAID, providing support, education and training on all aspects of MAID, the Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) does not support any individual’s ability to access MAID based simply on a person’s economic situation or living condition.

Dr. Stefanie Green, President, Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr Catherine Ferrier MD, Montreal responded on Jun 14, 2023

"Re: Take on MAID disingenuous — Dr. Stefanie Green, Letter to the editor, June 7

Dr. Stefanie Green calls several National Post columnists disingenuous for expressing concerns about Canadians requesting MAID for poverty, homelessness and other social problems.

Dr. Green knows perfectly well that, contrary to her claim of an “extremely rigorous process,” the Canadian law is so broad that anyone with a serious chronic illness or disability is eligible for MAID, regardless of whether that is their reason for requesting it. There is no need to be close to death and no need to have tried other options to relieve suffering, or even have them available.

The 10-day waiting period for people close to death was eliminated in 2021, and the 90-day delay for other people still makes it easier to obtain MAID than to see a specialist in many parts of Canada.

Amir Farsoud stated on CBC’S The Fifth Estate that he was approved for MAID on the basis of his chronic back pain, but requested it because he could not find housing he could afford on his disability pension. Alan Nichols, whose case was documented in the National Post, died through MAID for an official diagnosis of hearing loss, which was not his real reason either.

The Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers (CAMAP), of which Dr. Green is the president, is well aware that poverty drives many MAID requests. An article by Alexander Raikin in the New Atlantis in December 2022 quoted from many CAMAP seminars discussing exactly this issue.

There are reasons why Canada has the highest MAID rates in the world after only seven years, and why over 10,000 Canadians died through MAID in 2021, compared with 486 through assisted suicide in California, which has a similar population to ours, and legalized assisted death the same year."
Well said Dr Ferrier, and thank you for calling out Dr. Green.

Then this letter on June 17 from Dr. Richard R. J. Smyth:
Re: Take on MAID disingenuous — Dr. Stefanie Green, June 7; and Poor seeking MAID — Dr. Catherine Ferrier, June 14

Dr. Stefanie Green, the president of the Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers, defends her institution from a precarious position. She attempts to console us by saying that reporters, who write about well-documented cases of euthanasia occurring in response to impoverished social circumstances and inadequate services, are misleading us.

It is worth recalling that Jean Truchon himself, whose case eradicated the “reasonably foreseeable natural death” safeguard, confessed that he may not have sought MAID had he been able to access better care.

But Green’s own position is undermined by something far more serious than an unlikely bias in reporting. The very name of her organization tells us that the assessors and providers of MAID are the same persons: they are judge, jury and executioner. As a result, mistaken and unalterable determinations as to eligibility for death will continue to be made, no matter how “rigorous” the criteria. No doubt she will say this is an exaggeration, too, but in truth she presides over a monumental failure of fundamental justice.

Why did Liberal MPs vote against Bill C-311?

Liberal MPs do whatever Joyce Arthur of the Abortion Rights Coalition tells them to do when a child in the womb is involved. Just like their leader does. It's kind of sad. What it tells me is that Liberal MPs have a problem thinking for themselves whenever a pre-born child is involved. Whether it's a wanted child, whether it's an unwanted child, whether it's a child that is harmed or murdered along with its mother, as long as that child is in the womb, Liberal MPs and their leader follow what Joyce Arthur tells them to do.

Clearly the Liberals should have supported this bill but they did not.

Michelle Rempel Garner who is pro-choice (as opposed to pro-abortion), did support the bill because as she points out, this bill did address Arthur's concerns about previous similar bills:

"So, this year, Wagantall tabled Bill C-311, which did precisely what ARCC suggested as part of an alternative path forward in its past criticism of Bill C-225. Bill C-311's concise text is explicit. It seeks solely to amend Paragraph 718.‍2(a) of Canada's Criminal Code by adding the following after subparagraph (ii.‍1):

(ii.‍2) evidence that the offender, in committing the offence, abused a person whom the offender knew to be pregnant,

(ii.‍3) evidence that the offence caused physical or emotional harm to a pregnant victim.

Bill C-311 includes no language that changes access to abortion in any way, shape, or form. It creates no new criminal offenses at all. It states that if someone is convicted of a crime against someone they knew to be pregnant, or that crime caused physical or emotional harm to a pregnant woman during the commission of a crime, then a judge should consider these circumstances in sentencing."

Leah Gazan of Winnipeg Centre, MB actually brings up Jordan Peterson in the debate on the bill. I am not kidding.

"Madam Speaker, the member for Carleton has a history of supporting anti-choice legislation that impacts a woman's right to choose, including, now, his support of Bill C-311. He also has a history of backing up and holding up folks such as Jordan Peterson, who has spoken out aggressively against the trans community and its members' right to bodily autonomy. This is about bodily autonomy and the right to choose. It is very much a part of the debate.

When Cathay Wagantall objects to this and says:

"Madam Speaker, she is not referring to the bill at all. She is defaming and abusing—"

Unbelievably the Liberal speaker allows Gazan's remarks against Jordan Peterson.

Next Leah Gazan actually tells us why she is against the bill:

"The Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada opposes this bill, saying “The Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada opposes this bill and urges MPs to oppose the bill as well...The bill is redundant.” It goes on to say that the anti-choice movement is using it as a vehicle to advance fetal rights, saying, “Several anti-choice groups have been promoting this Bill C-311 as a means to recognize two victims. They are looking for a route to establish fetal personhood in law, and if this bill passes, they would leverage the bill for that purpose”."

Well then. If Arthur says blah blah blah, then clearly we Liberal MPs have our marching orders.

If I were a Liberal MP, and I shudder at the thought, I would be pretty embarrassed to know that I voted against this important bill because Joyce Arthur told me to.

Quebec sends 115 women to other provinces to get their abortions in 2022

Quebec sent 115 women to other provinces for abortions during fiscal year 2022-04-01 to 2023-03-31. Doctor's offices performed 45 abortions at a total cost of $12,377 ($235 each) and hospitals performed 70 abortions at a total cost of $100,850 ($1,441 each). I assume the more expensive abortions were late-term abortions because of the much higher cost. But I wasn't able to get the gestational ages of the abortions.

I was told they did not send any women to the US for abortions.

This is what I was told about the gestational ages of the abortions:

"We are unable to grant your request. In fact, according to the invoicing terms set out in the remuneration agreements for general practitioners and medical specialists, the wording of the procedures related to the payment of medical fees for abortions does not accurately identify the gestational age at the time of the procedure. Therefore, it is not possible to provide data specifying the gestational age at the time the services were rendered for fees billed to the Régie for abortions.

Furthermore, the Program for free universal access to voluntary medical interruption of pregnancy (abortion pill) allows women who want to terminate a pregnancy of 9 weeks or less to obtain the abortion pill free of charge. The Program also covers certain drugs related to a voluntary interruption of pregnancy, such as those used to control nausea. We do not hold information on gestational age when using the abortion pill."

Over $108 million spent in one year on LGBTQ ideology

Canada spent $108,594,964 in 2022 on "LGBTQ" ideology. That's more than a hundred million dollars spent in one year alone. On just one of Justin Trudeau's ideological causes. One of his favourites I think.

Federal public servants get $75,000 to transition to a different gender

"August 11, 2015: MONTREAL – Canadians deserve an open, transparent government that will focus on their real priorities – economic growth that works for everyone, said the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today. “Only Liberals have a plan for real change that will restore trust in our democracy, and ensure an open and transparent government.”" Justin Trudeau 2015

(This blog entry isn't actually about the above myth, it just came to me as I was writing about my current ATIP waiting game, where ATIPs and Information commissioner complaints, can take up to almost two years to receive. ATIPs always take longer than the promised 30 days. Never mind all of the redacted information that accompanies every response. The wheels of information release--when they actually turn at all--go way slower than the millions dished out by the Trudeau government's numerous and favourite ideological causes, that turn at warp speed....and now onto my other important news...)

If you work for the Federal public service and decide you don't like being a man or woman, you can get "gender affirming procedures" performed for up to $75,000 all free of charge--paid for by the public service healthcare program, as in, paid for, by you the tax payer.

My question is: what if I decide to de-transition because I realize I've made the biggest mistake of my life--and my heart sincerely goes out to these people--will I then get another $75,000 benefit to fix my mistake?

I submitted an ATIP to ask this exact question, to learn what information, if any, they have on paying for de-transitions. I haven't received a response yet. They're stalling: My ATIP request went out on May 2. On May 23 I was informed they needed another 90 days extension. Of course they do.

Why did Canada spend $12 million on "pride" during COVID?

Being that it's the so-called "pride season", I thought it might be a good idea to see just how much of our tax dollars during COVID went to this ideology that is forced fed down our collective throats. So I took a deep dive into the murky waters of Global Affairs reporting on our tax dollars redistribution to all things "pride". What I discovered is that for the three years of the pandemic 2020-2022, the government spent over $12 million on "pride" grants, $12,548,238 to be exact.

Isn't it interesting that we continued to fork out money to the "pride" dogma, even when the entire country, and especially our churches, were shut down during COVID? Yet we still gave millions of dollars to "pride". What did they do with that money anyway, since they couldn't have their irreverent and lewd parades and festivals?

Note 1: I also included 2023 spending in the report (though I excluded 2023 grants from the total dollars). Because the 2023 year isn't finished yet, we can expect millions more spent for 2023; it is only included for information purposes.

Note 2: I only searched on "pride", and not "LGBTQ" and other associated key words which would retrieve another whole bunch of spending from our tax dollars. For this post I only wanted to concentrate on the "pride" parades, "pride" festivals and other associated gospel of "pride" spending.

Note 3: It isn't bad enough that we are exposing our children to all things "pride", we are now also indoctrinating seniors by using "pride" grants from the "New Horizons for Seniors Program":
"The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal grants and contributions program. It provides funding for projects that make a difference in the lives of seniors and in their communities."
You can also see those dollars spent in my report.

The Month of June devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

To: The Minister for Women and Gender Equality

Dear Minister Marci Ien,

I understand that Canada now has "Pride Season" beginning in June and then continuing until September.
https://women-gender-equality.canada.ca/en/pride-season.html

As a practicing Catholic, we Catholics dedicate the month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As you may be aware, we are redeemed through the Incarnation, Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/overviews/months/06_1.cfm

According to Statistics Canada, 29.4% of Canadians (10.8 million) are Catholic. So I am asking you to please designate the month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

It would be a great way to respect the third of Canada's population, who honour, respect and love Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Sincerely,
Patricia Maloney
