Jericho walk to end abortion

The Montfort Hospital in Ottawa does abortions and I suspect they are late term abortion because of the higher cost. I received this information from my recent FOI request to the Quebec Health department:

I missed the Jericho walk on Saturday because we weren't in Ottawa. (Maureen did a fine job of capturing that walk).

So this morning I decided to do my own Jericho walk around the Montfort hospital. I prayed a Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet to end abortion at this hospital. I didn't do it seven times like one is supposed to. It just means I will have to do it six more times.

Perhaps we should consider doing a Jericho walk around all of our hospitals to end abortion.

A bit of beauty amidst the horror of abortion

When politicians make sense

I have come to the realization that most politicians say things that will either make me roll my eyes or cause me to yell at the computer/tv/radio when I hear them speak. This is especially true of one politician who shall remain nameless.

Of course there are some exceptions to this general principle I will call the trustworthy index of politicians, but the exception I am talking about today is MP Leslyn Lewis.

I receive her emails every day. Even though I don't read them all (I've already decided I am voting for her), my husband does read them. He is forever telling me how thoughtful these emails are. That they make a whole lot of sense. They do. As far as I can make out, Dr. Lewis is very unlike other politicians.

You can read yesterday's email here: It is about Faith and science. I've included Dr. Lewis's whole statement below. If you don't read the whole thing, please read the highlighted parts.

This statement does not make me roll my eyes. It does not make me yell at my computer. It speaks the truth. From a politician. What a concept.

"Are you a person of faith?

Or are you a person of science?

Or maybe like me, you feel like those words don’t mean what they used to anymore.

Faith has been popularly defined as “the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” This definition which is based on faith and a belief in God, has now been adopted by governments to get people to buy into policies.

In some cases when we are confronted with catastrophes, plagues or even a pandemic, we have to put our trust in a solution that may not have been fully tested or explained  — that’s faith.

Faith has often been confused with science. I am a social scientist, and stay away from making pronouncements in the area of natural science. But it isn’t hard to recognize that natural science has turned to beliefs that are also based on faith.

Claims like “trust the science” are actually displays of faith rather than confidence in the scientific method. The scientific method requires a hypothesis and rigorous testing. Science is not trusted, it is tested.

The past two years have been frustrating for those among us who like to ask questions in order to have a better understanding about what is going on around them. Questions were mocked, ridiculed, demonized and people were out-right silenced for asking simple questions about COVID or even vaccines. In my training as a lawyer whenever I encountered an aggressive, bullying person my instincts told me they were hiding something. Coercion always put me on alert that something wasn’t right.

At the beginning of the pandemic, we were all happy to “get vaccinated” in order to protect our neighbours, grandparents, and the vulnerable in society. Any scientist who spoke the truth that the COVID vaccine is a tool to reduce hospital burden by minimizing the symptoms - but it would not completely prevent contracting or spreading COVID - was vilified, de-platformed and ostracized as a dangerous  conspiracy theorist.

Canadians turned against their family members refusing to see them by falsely believing that vaccinated people were immune from getting COVID. Friends and coworkers yelled at colleagues to “GET VACCINATED”.  People threw down one of the major tenets of our medical system – privacy, and started divulging their vaccination status, even peer pressured into posting pictures of themselves getting vaccinated on social media. When you met someone for the first time, they often told you their vaccination status before they told you their name. And people like me were punished for insisting that we can be safe without violating the foundations of our democracy including the right to medical privacy and free and informed consent.

I accepted my punishment by not receiving a critic/shadow cabinet position even though all I had to do was simply disclose my vaccination status. I refused because I believe that my principles were worth more to me than any position. And as I watched the illogical madness around me, I refused to be dragged into a system headed for segregation and erosion of our fundamental values. I said “I will stand for my convictions — cost it what it may!"

The past few years have been based on faith, not in any deity, but in government. So many people never questioning information presented by both elected and unelected officials.

Government has seen how well this blind allegiance to faith works with policy. Now we must ask ourselves whether we will remain silent while our government:

  • implements environmental policies that have little or no connection with reducing emissions;
  • enters into international agreements that diminish our sovereignty, reduce farming capacity, and curtail the development of our natural resources; or
  • implements health and vaccine passes that could easily be programmed to integrate with other aspects of our lives and encroach on things that we once thought personal.

We need to end this style of government where politicians demand absolute trust and blind faith to their policies - while they demonize those who ask questions. We need to wake up and recognize that every time a politician labels something a conspiracy theory it’s often to avoid answering your question; and unfortunately, it’s often to hide the fact that they are outright lying to you!

It’s time we had politicians who showed a little faith in the people they are supposed to serve, and that requires that we end this era of intellectual darkness and blind faith and allegiance to the politicians and bureaucrats who underestimate our intelligence."

National Abortion Federation never reported Kermit Gosnell's clinic and now receives Canadian tax dollars

This story is frightening: Kermit Gosnell killed women and children. Ann McElhinney did a six part podcast on this real life horror story.

Kermit Gosnell was a serial killer, a major drug dealer, a fraudster, a liar and who knows what else. Not only did he kill women and snip the necks of born children, he taught his non-medical staff to provide copious amounts of drugs to women (illegally) before their abortions. He also taught them how to kill the babies. His staff would do this when Gosnell wasn't present, as he usually didn't come to work until the evening. That's when Gosnell did the very late abortions himself.

Here is the grand jury report on this story, 281 pages detailing all manner of evil.

The report details how numerous agencies and health professionals ignored/did nothing regarding this house of horrors when they should have. In particular:

  • Department of Health lawyers at the Pennsylvania Department of State
  • The Philadelphia Department of Public Health
  • Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and its subsidiary, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
  • Centers for Disease Control
  • Fellow doctors
  • The National Abortion Federation
A few quotes from the report:
"We discovered that Pennsylvania’s Department of Health has deliberately chosen not to enforce laws that should afford patients at abortion clinics the same safeguards and assurances of quality health care as patients of other medical service providers. Even nail salons in Pennsylvania are monitored more closely for client safety... Most appalling of all, the Department of Health’s 138 neglect of abortion patients’ safety and of Pennsylvania laws is clearly not inadvertent: It is by design."

"The problem with the Departments of State and Health is not that they lacked authority to end the crime spree that Gosnell and his staff passed off as practicing medicine. The problem is that the state overseers preferred not to exercise their authority. They chose to look the other way.'"

"Supervisors in the Division of Disease Control ignored a nurse’s disturbing report about conditions in Gosnell’s clinic in 2008 and 2009."

"The Philadelphia Health Department’s Environmental Engineering Section failed to follow through after receiving a complaint in 2003 about aborted fetuses stored in an employee refrigerator."

"After reviewing extensive and compelling evidence of criminal wrongdoing at the clinic, the Grand Jury has issued a presentment recommending the prosecution of Gosnell and members of his staff for criminal offenses including: • Murder of Karnamaya Mongar • Murders of babies born alive • Infanticide • Violations of the Controlled Substances Act • Hindering, Obstruction, and Tampering • Perjury • Illegal late-term abortions • Violations of the Abortion Control Act • Violations of the Controlled Substances Act • Abuse of Corpse • Theft by Deception • Conspiracy • Corrupt Organization • Corruption of Minors"

Canadians should take particular note of the National Abortion Federation:

"A national association of abortion providers declined to admit the Women’s Medical Society [Kermit Gosnell's abortion clinic] as a member, finding it to be the worst facility its inspector had ever seen...the evaluator from NAF readily noted that records were not properly kept, that risks were not explained, that patients were not monitored, that equipment was not available, that anesthesia was misused. It was the worst abortion clinic she had ever inspected. Of course, she rejected Gosnell’s application. She just never told anyone in authority about all the horrible, dangerous things she had seen." (emphasis added)

In fact NAF supposedly:

"is an association of abortion providers that upholds the strictest health and legal standards for its members." (emphasis added)

Yet the NAF inspector didn't tell anyone about the problems she witnessed there.

And guess what? This year Health Canada gave funding to NAF Canada (NAF is now active here) in the amount of $1,469,150Even though their inspector witnessed first hand problems with Gosnell's clinic, they never reported it to anyone. They just turned a blind eye. And now Canada is giving them our tax dollars.

I don't know about you, but I find this fact pretty disturbing.

Reclaiming the Canadian flag for Canadian Freedom

Justin Trudeau wants to "reclaim" the Canadian flag: Trudeau, ministers bid to reclaim flag from freedom protesters in Canada Day speeches.

Well I've decided to reclaim it from Justin Trudeau. I reclaim it for Canada. I reclaim it for freedom. I reclaim it for the truckers. I reclaim it for the people who want the freedom to not take the vaccine. I reclaim it for pro-life people and the pre-born Canadians they support.

And this flag is now mounted at our home in perpetuity.

So there Justin Trudeau. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

The appalling treatment of Tamara Lich

We should all be incensed at the treatment of Tamara Lich. She is being treated as a murderer or something worse, maybe a pedophile or rapist. A Canada wide search warrant (reserved for the most dangerous of offenders) dragged her back to Ottawa from her place of work (embarrassing her in front of co-workers), putting her in detention before Canada's national holiday (and away from her family). All for what? Because she allegedly breached a bail condition for having her picture taken with someone while in the presence of her lawyers (as per her bail condition)?

Are the Crown, the Ottawa Police, and Justin Trudeau serious (we all know the PM's loathing for all things trucker convoy)? And why was she on bail in the first place? Accused of counseling mischief? Good grief.

I am so thoroughly fed up with this witch hunt against honest hard working Canadians like Tamara Lich, and all the protesters who came to Ottawa to fight for our freedom that Justin Trudeau and his vainglory supporters have conjured up I could just toss my cookies.

CIHI 2020 abortion data: tragedy and confusion still reign

CIHI's 2020 abortion stats:

"volumes reported underestimate the true number of induced abortions in Canada"

There are so many caveats (bolded below) in CIHI's abortion data, that it truly is difficult to know how many abortions are being perpetrated in Canada.

From Page 2:

"CIHI captures administrative, clinical and demographic data on induced abortions performed in Canadian hospitals. Data is supplied by provincial and territorial ministries of health, hospitals, independent abortion specific clinics and other clinics in Canada. Data from clinics providing abortion services is submitted voluntarily to CIHI and most does not include information on abortion procedure or patient characteristics. Counts in the following tables include induced abortions performed in a hospital or in a clinic providing abortion services in Canada. Due to variations in use of fee-for-service (FFS) payments for induced abortions across the country, these figures are not based on pan-Canadian FFS data [this is why I like to make FOI requests for data: it is typically more accurate than CIHI's numbers]

In recent years, medical abortions have become more accessible in primary care settings (e.g., nurse practitioner and physician offices, community and public health clinics), and most of these are not included in the data tables. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on hospital activity in Canada (e.g., delayed or cancelled surgeries). Measures to maintain early access to abortion services during the pandemic (e.g., virtual visits, extending gestational age limit for medical abortion) may have further shifted abortion volumes to primary care settings. Therefore, volumes reported underestimate the true number of induced abortions in Canada. More comprehensive reporting may be available in future CIHI releases.

Results presented in tables 3 to 8 are derived from hospitalization data only. Findings therefore exclude many early, medical and uncomplicated induced abortions, which occur more frequently in clinic and primary care settings. These results are unlikely to be representative of all abortions across all settings and may overestimate the proportion of all abortions with complications and underestimate the proportion of all abortions provided medically and in the first trimester."

And this note on Table 1:

"Number of induced abortions reported in Canada in 2020, by province/territory of hospital or clinic" (note: some abortions not included, for example, most medical abortions in primary care settings*)

And regarding Quebec's numbers:

The methodology for Quebec was revised in 2019 to include fee codes for medical abortions, resulting in an increase in reported abortion volumes for both hospitals and clinics.

So it seems most provinces do not report medical abortions to CIHI--but Quebec does report medical abortions?

Every abortion is a tragedy, but some are more tragic than others:

  • At least 1,376 women have had 2 or more hospital abortions (this number would be higher, because they exclude Quebec and clinic abortions)
  • At least 652 women have had hospital abortions at 21+ weeks gestation (this number would also be higher, because they exclude Quebec and clinic abortions)
  • 1,514 girls <=17 years old had an abortion. These girls cannot vote, legally drink or smoke dope, but they can abort their child.
How can we let this happen?

Quebec outsources the deaths of 154 children by abortion

According to a freedom of information request to the Quebec government, there were 21,265 abortions in 2020/2021 in Quebec facilities. That's a total of $3,205,165 or an average of $151/abortion.

They also outsourced 75 abortions to non-Quebec doctors' offices, at an average cost of $269/abortion

And they also outsourced 78 abortions to non-Quebec hospitals at an average cost of $1,477/abortion. (My guess is that these are all late-term abortions because of the much higher costs)

Quebec also sent one child to the United States to die by abortion in 2020/2021. This abortion cost $599.40.

AB - Alberta CALGARY GENERAL PETER LOUGHEED CENTRE for a total of $1,385

BC - British Columbia KELOWNA GENERAL HOSPITAL for a total of $4,155  ($1385/abortion)

MB - Manitoba HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE for a total of $1,385

NS - Nova Scotia QEII HEALTH SERVICES CENTRE 2 for a total of $2,770 ($1385/abortion)

ON - Ontario Hawkesbury & District General Hospital for a total of $1,385

ON - Ontario HOPITAL D'OTTAWA 56 for a total of 84,725 ($1,513/abortion. Notice that this cost is the highest average of all the abortions.)

ON - Ontario HOPITAL MONTFORT 4 for a total of $5,522 ($1,380.50/abortion)

ON - Ontario LONDON HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE 3 for a total of  $4,155 ($1380/abortion)

ON - Ontario North Bay Regional Health Centre 4 for a total of $5,540 ($1,385/abortion)

ON - Ontario Pembroke Regional Hospital Inc.for a total of $1,385

PE - Île-du-Prince-Édouard/Prince Edward Island PRINCE COUNTY HOSPITAL 1 for a total of  $1,385

SK - Saskatchewan Regina General Hospital for a total of  $1,385

Total 78 for a total cost of $115,177 or an average of $1,477/abortion

A Statement on Roe v Wade from Pro-Life Women in Canada

If you would like to sign a letter in support of the US Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe VS Wade, you can do so here:

"Today the US Supreme Court officially released a decision overruling Roe v. Wade. While this is an American decision with no implication for Canadian law, some politicians north of the border have already politicized the issue. For all of the undersigned women, however, overturning bad law marks a point of immense encouragement. We speak out because those leaders who defend abortion do not speak for us. We speak out in defence of all human beings from their biological beginnings until death. We speak out because defending and advocating for women also means defending and advocating for our preborn children."

Andrea Mrozek is also interviewed here by the CBC on the decision.

Liberal forward for everyone = Liberal backward for pro-life

I wrote this a while back regarding the Canadian Finance department: ATIP reveals no records to support revoking charitable status of CPCs.

I subsequently submitted another ATIP to CRA to see what they had on the same subject. What I received back from CRA revealed a couple of things.

First of all, it told me that CRA would not be doing anything about revoking the charitable status on pro-life organizations (good news). It isn't their job to. It is Finance's job. But CRA did receive numerous inquiries from the media regarding Justin Trudeau's hateful, discriminatory, mean-spirited, devoid of merit, desire to remove their charitable status. For example:

Question: In the Liberal Forward for Everyone platform the party committed to no longer providing charitable status to anti-abortion organizations. Can you please tell me what is the status of this commitment? Has your department been given any sort of timeline to implement this commitment? Do you have a list of charities that would potentially be impacted by this change and could you share it?

Proposed response: The confidentiality provisions of the Income Tax Act prevent the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) from commenting on specific cases. However, we can provide you with the following information. The CRA can only determine whether an activity of a charity is acceptable after it has fully considered the facts of a particular case based on common law. According to the common law, the promotion of health can be charitable. To be charitable, a purpose that promotes health must, as a general rule, directly prevent or relieve a physical or mental health condition by providing effective health care services or products to the public in a manner that meets applicable quality and safety requirements. For more information, see Guidance CG-021, Promotion of health and charitable registration.

If the CRA identifies that a charity is not complying with the requirements of the Act, the charity could be subject to a number of compliance actions, up to and including revocation. We encourage the public to report suspected non-compliance by registered charities to the National Leads Centre.

Note that the CRA cannot provide any feedback and/or update on leads received, or subsequent actions taken. CRA’s actions can only made public when they result in a charity being: •revoked, •annulled, •suspended

The CRA posts such cases in its List of charities. This provides transparency to Canadians regarding the decisions of the CRA with respect to charities.

Notice that these inquiries were referred back to Finance:

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers the legislative provisions under the Income Tax Act. However, any legislative changes to the Act are the responsibility of the Department of Finance Canada. As a result, the CRA cannot comment on any potential legislative changes. (emphasis added)

Okay. So clearly CRA will not do anything about Justin Trudeau's hateful, discriminatory, mean-spirited, devoid of merit, election promise.

Similar responses to media are also made in the document.

Then this statement:

The IM Team is prepared to respond to further enquiries by referring to the Department of Finance. (emphasis added)

CRA is clearly referring these requests back to Finance. But as far as I know Finance had no records on this (as mentioned earlier).

Finally we see this statement:

The Department of Finance has asked for our views regarding the Liberal Platform commitment.

So Finance asked for CRA's views on Justin Trudeau's hateful, discriminatory, mean-spirited, devoid of merit desire, election promise. But my ATIP to Finance revealed no documents. How could there be no documents, when Finance is asking for input from CRA?

I have now asked the Department of Finance why my previous ATIP to them revealed nothing. I am still waiting for a response.

Something is definitely fishy in the State of Denmark.

I would really like you all to ask him that question

This is a very important news conference given by MP Cathay Wagantall. What a gracious and beautiful person she is. Far more gracious than I could be in these circumstances.

She lives in Saskatchewan, and can't take a plane or train so has to drive back and forth to her home. She won't reveal her vaccination status.

"All Canadians should be allowed exemptions" she says.

She shows the hypocrisy and heavy handedness of the Prime Minister. She clearly lays the fault of these restrictions on Justin Trudeau.

A reporter asked Ms. Wagantall "Why do you think the PM continues to extend the restrictions this week? She replied, "I would really like you all to ask him that question, over and over and over again. Clearly there is an alternative agenda and I don't think it's about Covid".

Thank you Cathy Wagantall. I wish I lived in your riding. You are my hero. God Bless you.

Live-birth late-term abortions still happen in Canada

There are some who say Canada does not perform late-term abortions. They are disinformation abortion lobbyists. (AKA Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights)

"No providers in Canada offer abortion care beyond 23 weeks and 6 days. When they are beyond 23 weeks and 6 days, many Canadians end up having to travel to the United States to access services with little guidance or support from their governments."

According to CIHI, here are the 2020-2021 numbers. These abortions are not only late-term abortions, they are also born-alive abortions.

In 2020/2021 Canadian abortion doctors performed:

18 of these horrific abortions at 20 weeks gestation

93 of these horrific abortions from 21-24 weeks gestation

8 of these horrific abortions from 25-28 weeks gestation

8 of these horrific abortions 29 weeks gestation and older

That's 127 born alive abortions in one year. That's 15 more than there were in 2019/2020

To add to this horror, there were 935 stillbirth abortions performed of 20 weeks and later gestation.

If this isn't something to weep over I don't know what is.

Former Minister of Health commends worker with CPC

We know that Justin Trudeau wants to take away charitable status from pregnancy care centres. It seems he follows Joyce Arthur's lead on this, who despises these centres.

However an ATIP revealed that former Minister of Health Jane Philpott seemed to have a different opinion of these centres. At least she did in her former capacity as Minister of Health in Canada, and before she quit the Liberal party when Trudeau fired her friend and colleague Jody Wilson-Raybould for being too ethical.

Here is a letter Dr. Philpott sent to someone who wrote to her about these centres. (emphasis added)

JAN 14 2016

Thank you for your correspondence of December 29, 2015, inviting me to meet with you to discuss abortion services and how improving the connection with pregnancy centres could be part of a new strategy.

Unfortunately, my schedule does not permit me to accept your kind invitation.

I commend you for your dedication in supporting vulnerable young women facing a crisis pregnancy.

Again, thank you for writing, and please accept my best wishes.

Yours sincerely,

The Honourable Jane Philpott, P.C., M.P.

Ten 25-28 week gestation live birth abortions is not none

Action Canada claims:

"No providers in Canada offer abortion care beyond 23 weeks and 6 days. When they are beyond 23 weeks and 6 days, many Canadians end up having to travel to the United States to access services with little guidance or support from their governments."

Not true. In fact in 2019-2020, there were 84 live birth abortions of 21-24 week gestation, and 10 live birth abortions of 25-28 week gestation in Canada. That is not none. And it is for one year only. And these numbers do not include Quebec abortions. These are abortions that fail, resulting in a live human being being born. And left to die. That is something. And we should all be ashamed.

A few of my posts on born alive and live birth abortions.

(Thanks to Pete Baklinski for alerting me to Action Canada's disinformation on this)

NAF Canada rears its ugly head

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) registered in Canada as a "charity" in 2009. For 11 years NAF Canada's presence here had been pretty much non existent. Just check out their income statements at CRA.

The last time they reported to CRA in 2020, this was their income:

Receipted donations $45,000.00 (34.76%)
Non-receipted donations $68,863.00 (53.19%)
Gifts from other registered charities $0.00 (0.00%)
Government funding $4,599.00 (3.55%)
All other revenue $11,012.00 (8.51%)

Total revenue: $129,474.00

In 2020 NAF had one full time employee who earned $108,829, and one part-time employee who earned 6,945. Like all pro-abortion organizations, compensation is very lucrative when your business is supporting/engaged in the killing of children in the womb. That's 84% of their revenue going to one salary. Can you imagine a pro-life group using 84% of their income to pay someone that much money? No, I can't either.

Previous to 2020, their only government funding was for two summer job program grants ($4,854 in 2021 and $4,654 in 2020). (Why did an inactive company even need those two interns? But I digress.)

Well that's all changed now. NAF Canada just received $1,469,150 in government funding in March 2022. Because clearly Canada needed more pro-abortion advocacy groups.

It will be sad to see how the baby killing industry continues to expand in Canada under Canada's most pro-abortion prime minister we've ever had.

Oh, and let's watch and see how many more high paying pro-abortions will be added to the ranks of NAF Canada.

Stay tuned. I'm watching you NAF Canada.

Justin Trudeau and the truckers

From the Documentary: Trucking for Freedom (Part 1)

"For thirty-three days, the world watched. Crossing ten provinces and three territories; thousands of trucks traversed the highways and by-ways of Canada’s northern climes in this exclusive documentary offering an immersive look into an extraordinary moment in Canadian history. The Chronicle Brothers imbedded themselves within the Canadian Trucker Convoy capturing the unifying pulse of everyday people.

The directors blend interviews and live footage, journaling unbiased truths intrinsically viewed through a camera lens. They expose the raw emotion and purpose of those who felt compelled to embark on a journey fraught with both joy and sorrow.

The film lays bare a deep and broadening divide within a country known for unity and trust, and how two years of lockdowns illuminated the disparity in the working class and the political landscape. It gives a raw and unpolished visual of diverse Canadians holding a gutted Canadian Charter up to a spotlight and hoping to be heard."

I have puzzled for a long time now about the motives of our Prime Minister for the things he says and does. This never puzzled me as much as the recent trucker convoy to Ottawa did.

Justin Trudeau treated the truckers and what they stood for--freedom--with total disdain. He refused to meet with them or even to listen to them. He called them "anti-vaxxer mobs" launching "racist, misogynistic attacks."

The only other group Trudeau has treated with such contempt is pro-life Canadians.

So why did Trudeau show such dislike for the truckers? I think I figured it out. He was very angry with them that was clear from the start. But I think in the final analysis, Justin Trudeau was jealous of them. He was jealous that they rallied an entire country around them. Something Justin Trudeau doesn't know how to do.

I wasn't in Ottawa for the time the truckers were here, but I happened to see the beginning of the convoy when we traveled the Ottawa Queensway from Kanata to downtown Ottawa on Jan 29. The right hand lane was filled with trucks. I expected the 18 wheelers, but was totally unprepared for the smaller trucks of all descriptions, and many many cars, all united by a common cause. There were so many Canadian flags, miles of them. I saw people at every overpass cheering them on. I had never seen such an outpouring of love for anything in my life before this. I could tell people were happy. They were excited. They stood behind something important: our freedom. I knew something electric was taking place.

Over the 33 days of the protest, I spoke to people who were downtown to see for themselves what was happening there. They all remarked on the joy and love that was filling the bitter cold days so common in Ottawa. I saw reams and reams of footage of what was taking place. I saw people of different ethnic groups, of different ages, from the west and from the east. I saw Quebec flags and Canadian flags; Albertans and Francophones united together.

Justin Trudeau is divisive. He only supports those with whom he agrees. He spreads disinformation about those he doesn't like or doesn't agree with. We pro-life Canadians are only too familiar with his tactics. And now the truckers have felt it as well.

The truckers did what Justin Trudeau could not. They united a country. And for this they paid a heavy price.

Watch part one of the documentary. It is great.

Patrick Brown shows his true colours

From his book where he advises Doug Ford on social conservatives:

Thanks To Leslyn Lewis for this quote.

It isn't crisis pregnancy centres who spread misinformation, it's the pro-aborts

Dear Justin Trudeau,

I do not understand why you have a problem with pregnancy care centres. From this letter you wrote to the Minister of finance, you instruct the minister to do this:

"Introduce amendments to the Income Tax Act to make anti-abortion organizations that provide dishonest counselling to pregnant women about their rights and options ineligible for charitable status".

"Dishonest counseling"? Have you ever been to a pregnancy care centre, and spoken to the people who work there? Or to the people they serve? I don't think you have. If you had, you would know that these allegations are totally untrue. So why are you saying this, and targeting their charitable status?

If you do actually want to know the truth about these centres, may I suggest you watch this 20 minute interview with the Executive director of CAPSS. CAPSS has 82 affiliates who provide this amazing care and support to women.

What I do know for sure is this. There are people out there who really really hate pregnancy care centres. And they have been going after pregnancy care centres for many years now, spreading many falsehoods about them. I really hope you haven't been listening to them, because if you have been, you are being led astray.

Thank you.

Patricia Maloney

ATIP reveals no records to support revoking charitable status of CPCs

Remember this letter from Justin Trudeau to the Finance Department?

"Introduce amendments to the Income Tax Act to make anti-abortion organizations that provide dishonest counselling to pregnant women about their rights and options ineligible for charitable status"

We know of course that crisis pregnancy centres do not provide "dishonest counselling" to women. We also know who else spreads fallacies about CPC's. Pro-abortions Joyce Arthur and Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights loathe crisis pregnancy centres.

Three peas in a pod.

Arthur wrote two "reports" on her disdain for these centres, "reports" that news outlets like Global news "report" on. Global even posted Arthur's 2016 report on their website. The only problem is that Arthur's 2016 report is full of inaccurate, misleading and mythical information. So is her 2009 report, and both reports were refuted here and here.

I couldn't find any mention on Global's site about these rebuttals to Arthur's fake news "reports". So much for balanced news reporting.

Action Canada receives millions of dollars from Justin Trudeau's pro-abortion government. And Crisis Pregnancy Centres receive zero, zilch, nada from our pro-abortion government. Arthur even received $27,400 to write her hateful 2009 report.

Arthur and Action Canada are doing everything they can to get these groups to lose their charitable status. And Justin Trudeau tags along for the ride.

So what evidence does the department of Finance have to support this proposed revocation of the charitable status of CPC's? I did an ATIP, and guess what? They have no evidence whatsoever.

 Zero, zilch, nada.

This is what I received back from the department of Finance:

"In accordance with section 10(1)(a) of the Act, I must inform you that, after a thorough search, no records exist in the Department of Finance Canada concerning this request."

Not a surprise of course, because everything Joyce Arthur has ever written about CPC's is not true.

The UK Spectator: MAID is all about the money

Dear Canadian Media, I have just one question for you. Do you care?

From a UK Spectator op-ed entitled Why is Canada euthanising the poor?

When the UK sits up and takes notice of Canada's legal killing regime, maybe it's time for our own government subsidized media to do likewise.

"A man with a neurodegenerative disease testified to Parliament that nurses and a medical ethicist at a hospital tried to coerce him into killing himself by threatening to bankrupt him with extra costs or by kicking him out of the hospital, and by withholding water from him for 20 days. Virtually every disability rights group in the country opposed the new law. To no effect: for once, the government found it convenient to ignore these otherwise impeccably progressive groups.

Since then, things have only gotten worse. A woman in Ontario was forced into euthanasia because her housing benefits did not allow her to get better housing which didn’t aggravate her crippling allergies. Another disabled woman applied to die because she ‘simply cannot afford to keep on living’. Another sought euthanasia because Covid-related debt left her unable to pay for the treatment which kept her chronic pain bearable – under the present government, disabled Canadians got $600 in additional financial assistance during Covid; university students got $5,000.

When the family of a 35-year-old disabled man who resorted to euthanasia arrived at the care home where he lived, they encountered ‘urine on the floor… spots where there was feces on the floor… spots where your feet were just sticking. Like, if you stood at his bedside and when you went to walk away, your foot was literally stuck.’ According to the Canadian government, the assisted suicide law is about ‘prioritis[ing] the individual autonomy of Canadians’; one may wonder how much autonomy a disabled man lying in his own filth had in weighing death over life.

Despite the Canadian government’s insistence that assisted suicide is all about individual autonomy, it has also kept an eye on its fiscal advantages. Even before Bill C-7 entered into force, the country’s Parliamentary Budget Officer published a report about the cost savings it would create: whereas the old MAID regime saved $86.9 million per year – a ‘net cost reduction’, in the sterile words of the report – Bill C-7 would create additional net savings of $62 million per year. Healthcare, particular for those suffering from chronic conditions, is expensive; but assisted suicide only costs the taxpayer $2,327 per ‘case’. And, of course, those who have to rely wholly on government-provided Medicare pose a far greater burden on the exchequer than those who have savings or private insurance.

And yet Canada’s lavishly subsidised media, with some honourable exceptions, has expressed remarkably little curiosity about the open social murder of citizens in one of the world’s wealthiest countries. Perhaps, like many doctors, journalists are afraid of being accused of being ‘unprogressive’ for questioning the new culture of death, a fatal accusation in polite circles. Canada’s public broadcaster [that would be our infamous CBC], which in 2020 reassured Canadians that there was ‘no link between poverty, choosing medically assisted death’, has had little to say about any of the subsequent developments.

Next year, the floodgates will open even further when those suffering from mental illness – another disproportionately poor group – become eligible for assisted suicide, although enthusiastic doctors and nurses have already pre-empted the law. There is already talk of allowing ‘mature minors’ access to euthanasia too – just think of the lifetime savings. But remember, slippery slopes are always a fallacy." (emphasis added)

Does anyone believe Patrick Brown?

Dear Patrick Brown,

Do you remember when you told people you were pro-life, then threw us under the bus, because you weren't really pro-life? We remember that very well.

And do you remember when you told people you were against the sex-ed curriculum, but you weren't? We remember that too.

And now you want us to believe that you support free speech rights?

Sorry Patrick, but you've cooked your goose just once too often. I'd say that goose is pretty darned burnt right now. I'm also pretty certain not a single social conservative will vote for you this time. Maybe we were stupid then, but we aren't that stupid anymore.

When Pierre brought his campaign to a brewery in Toronto, the company was forced to take the extraordinary step of issuing a public statement saying they don’t support his political views.

Then, another brewery also distanced themselves from Pierre after he referenced their product in a video.

Many in the media – and even Conservatives – said these incidents prove Pierre is unelectable and cannot win a general election.

To me, that’s not the point.

I disagree with Pierre about lots of things, like his support for banning religious symbols, imposing a snitch line for cultural communities, and Quebec’s Bill 21.

But let me be 100% clear. I will always defend Pierre’s right to free speech – even when I disagree with him.

I’ll fight for his rights, just like I’ll fight for yours, and the rights of every Canadian with the courage to speak out about the things they believe in.

Trudeau literally says it's okay to override our Charter rights (Update)

This was Published December 20, 2021

"Regardless of the fact that we are attacking your fundamental rights, or limiting your fundamental rights, and the Charter says that is wrong, we're still going to go ahead and do it. It's basically a loophole that allows a majority to override fundamental rights of a minority."

Of course this should come as no surprise to anyone. Think public servants (on unpaid leave due to not being vaccinated). Think truckers (frozen bank accounts, Emergency Act). Think pro-life people (Summer Jobs program, pro-life charities, etc.).

Not a good look for a Prime Minister.

Just found this:

"The video clip leaves out key context. Trudeau was actually talking about a clause in the Canadian Constitution that he does not agree with."

So it seems without the whole context, Trudeau is not saying what it sounds like he is saying.

Euthanasia instead of mental health and palliative care

Here is an excellent article (8 pages long) in the National Post last Saturday on Canada's legal euthanasia regime, and its proposed changes, where the mentally ill will be eligible. The article is well worth the read, I've only posted a very small number of points from it. It is written by an Ottawa doctor Dr. Ferrukh Faruqui. A lot of doctors who support MAID are having issues with the changes to the bill.

I remember when the government introduced the legal killing of Canadians, they talked about all the safeguards the law would have. We knew of course that it was just a slippery slope. Now that slippery slope has become a landslide.

Slippery slope part 1 -- no promised review of underfunded palliative care:

"In 2015, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the prohibition of physician-assisted death was unconstitutional. Parliament responded by enacting 2016’s Bill C-14, which allowed doctors to euthanize competent adults with a severe, irremediable condition facing a reasonably foreseeable natural death (RFND). Parliament also promised to delay any new legislation until completion of a June 2020 review — not just of MAiD, but also of woefully underfunded mental health and palliative care — a review that never occurred."

Slippery slope part 2 -- no more "reasonably foreseeable natural death":

"Instead, the Liberals introduced Bill C-7, which stakeholders say is a different beast altogether. It doesn’t just amend C-14. It redefines medical aid in dying to permit death for those who aren’t dying by eliminating the RFND clause. It also removes safeguards such as the 10-day reflection period. Instead of two independent witnesses to corroborate MAiD requests, only a single witness, be it a medical professional or paid caregiver, is needed. Critics warn such changes leave vulnerable patients open to coercion by the unscrupulous."

Less than 30 % of Canadians have access to palliative care, but legal euthanasia is available universally.
"Fewer than 30 per cent of Canadians have palliative care access, whereas 90 per cent could benefit from it, according to the McMaster Health Forum. In contrast, MAiD is enshrined as a health right, accounted for 2.5 per cent of deaths in 2020 and is universally available. The 2017 National Framework for Palliative Care in Canada notably tied zero funding to its action plan."
Slippery Slope Part 3 -- kill the mentally ill in March 2023:

In the article below from the NP Platformed, I have posted a few quotes from Colby Cosh's take on the bill. NP Platformed supports MAID.

"We favour legalized euthanasia in principle...but what astonished NP Platformed in Faruqui's essay is the appearance of the University of Toronto psychiatrist Dr. Sonu Gaind, who has seen the danger of equating mental illness with physical illness for the purposes of euthanasia law. In any newspaper you are bound to find someone — usually someone credentialed — arguing that mental illness is no different in principle from a bad tooth or a collapsed lung. Usually this is part of an argument for spending more public money on mental health, with the implicit premise that mental health treatments are just as effective as popping an Aspirin.

In the hands of the courts, the “mental health is health” principle became part of an argument that sufferers from schizophrenia or obsessive-compulsive disorder have the same claims to assisted death as someone with ALS or an irreparable brain tumour. The result some doctors fear is that euthanasia will become a routine “treatment” for psychiatric disorders. Either way, it takes monumental courage for Gaind to insist — as he apparently has, in professional settings — upon the distinction between psychiatric illness and the physical kind. To deny it, he says, is “obfuscation.” In Faruqui's paraphrase:

“Cardiologists know how heart disease works. But psychiatry hasn’t elucidated the pathophysiology of depression or schizophrenia. It’s impossible for clinicians to predict prognosis in individual cases, meaning that some who seek death would have gotten better.”

Other psychiatrists have been making the same courageous point, which boils down to: “We, as a profession, don't totally know what we're doing.” This same point might be made when politicians make expensive promises to provide superior or even “universal” mental health care: somebody is going to have to invent it before you can buy it."

— Colby Cosh

One final point. What about the psychological effect on the doctors who do this killing? Does anyone know or care about that?

Catholics should not support "equity"

I had been having an email conversation with members of Ottawa's Catholic School Board. It began with their support of Black Live Matter (which was a big red flag for me). Then I discovered the board supports Bill 67, Racial Equity in the Education System ActCatholic bishops and other Catholics have come out against "equity". And so should our schools. But in fact, they support it.

Bishop Gomez:

"Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez recently said, “Today’s critical theories and ideologies are profoundly atheistic.” An integral part of the agenda is “diversity, equity, and inclusion” mandates that critics say end up discriminating against members of groups that have not been identified as oppressed or under-represented."
And this from Peter Nolan:

“Adults themselves need to be educated before our young people can stand against cancel culture,” he said. “One problem has been that woke ideology has been camouflaged by terminology like ‘diversity, inclusivity, and equity,’ and ‘social justice,’ which sound like they are secular initiatives that could be aligned with Catholic social teaching. They are not.”

And this from Bishop Baron:

“Fourth, they tend to demonize the market economy and the institutions of democracy as part of a superstructure defending the privileged,” Bishop Barron explained. “Fifth, they push toward equity of outcome throughout the society, rather than equality of opportunity.” And finally, “wokeism” employs divisive strategies of accusation that are contrary to the Gospel demand to love our enemies.”

Bishop Barron, Bishop Gomez and Peter Nolan, did not change the Board members' minds.

This is a very dangerous path our Catholic Board is taking. Jordan Peterson and Rex Murphy go into detail about how harmful this Bill 67 will be for our schools (see link below).

So today I wrote a final letter to the Ottawa Catholic School Board. It seems we need to pray a lot for them.

Dear Ottawa School Board,

I hope you will listen to this video Jordan Peterson made yesterday on Bill 67, with newspaper columnist Rex Murphy.

They discuss the impact Bill 67 will have on our schools, which includes our Catholic schools here in Ottawa.

From the responses I have received from those of you who have responded to me, it seems very clear that my emails have not changed your minds on the subject of implementing "equity" policies in our Catholic schools.

Nevertheless, I feel that in good conscience, I must make this final effort to reach out to you. I will not contact you again on this subject.

I will pray for all of you that your hearts will change regarding the dangers this bill will have on our children, their parents and their teachers.

Bill 67 - Equity is the opposite of Equality

Dear Ontario MPPs,

This is a very racist bill:

The law will entrench “anti-racist” instruction and training programs in schools. The bill defines its policy of “anti-racism” as “opposing racism including anti-Indigenous racism, anti-Black racism, anti-Asian racism, antisemitism and Islamophobia.” The law omits any “opposing” of “anti-Caucasian” racism, so we know that expressed hatred of white people will be permitted. This is the essence of CRT. In fact, CRT is a deeply racist ideology that stipulates whiteness as the source of all social injustice.

The average Canadian whose life doesn’t revolve around politics can be forgiven for reading this bill and taking no special notice of the 54 times, including the title, the word “equity” is mentioned. To the average Canadian, “equity” looks a lot like “equality.” In fact, the two words hold opposite meanings. So legislators, especially conservative ones, whose job it is to know the difference between their own philosophy and the philosophy of radical leftists cannot be easily forgiven for doing likewise. The word should have leapt from the title, causing escalating alarm at every iteration.

Equality refers to the same start line for individual advancement, while equity refers to proportional group representation at the finish line. Equity theory insists that any failure to meet proportional representation in outcomes is due to racism alone. Which isn’t the case, but the theory prevails. Thus, equity is only possible through social engineering and heavy state interference. Practically speaking, it means individual merit and skillsets get short shrift. It encourages perpetual grievance in designated student victims and compels perpetual guilt in white “settler” students. Barb Kay

Please do not vote for it.

Thank you.
