A couple of notes on Dying with Dignity's recently published 2025 financial statements.

DWDC has long-term investments of $8,160,832 (2025), up from $7,370,174 (2024). Imagine a charity so rich that they can afford to keep more than $8 million in long-term investments--money that clearly isn't needed to run the business. They also received $646,153 in investment income alone. Can you imagine a pro-life charity being this rich? Neither can I.

My guess is that they will use this great big juicy horde of cash to pay for their Charter challenges (British Columbia court battle and the Mental Illness Exclusion Challenge in Ontario), and when they act as intervenors in other court cases. Lots of cash to do this. 

Donations are up: $ 2,976,918 (2025), from $ 2,759,606 (2024).

(I still puzzle why anyone would donate to this pro-death group who advocate, lobby and promote killing people. Why does Dying with Dignity even exist? Is it because of power? Or money? Or are they just plain old run of the mill lunatic psychopaths?)

Advertising and promotions $1,013,241 (2025), up from $803,555 (2024). That's over one third of their donations spent on advertising and promoting and lobbying the government for the killing industry.

The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition has applied to be intervenor in the Brosseau case launched by Dying with Dignity. 

The Brosseau case is asking an Ontario court to legislate from the bench by approving medical homicide for Claire Brosseau who is living with mental illness alone. Court interventions are very expensive. We need your support.

Killing people is an incredibly rewarding experience

It's bad enough that Canada has one of the most permissive euthanasia laws in the world. But now we have the death providers telling us how killing people is rewarding. "Incredibly rewarding" even.

A long form article on Dr. Ellen Wiebe in the National Post recently has admitted to killing over 400 people through MAID. Alex Schadenberg, Executive Director, Euthanasia Prevention Coalition informs us that Dr. Wiebe giggles when talking about killing people.

"Elmira Tanatarova reported for the Daily Mail on May 15 that many of the viewers of the Better off Dead? documentary were uneasy with Wiebe as she giggled when discussing the number of her euthanasia deaths."

I then came across this study where the authors interviewed eight MAID doctors who clearly love what they do. For them, killing people embodied an "existential experience".

Some other quotes from the study.

"The act of providing MAiD fostered embodied feelings of conviction, courage, compassion, and intimacy". 

"Uplifting." 

"It doesn't upset me at all." 

"It’s like an adrenaline rush." 

“I hadn’t expected this”

“It’s amazing. It blows my mind still.” 

"It’s almost an adrenaline rush. And I was surprised at how good I felt. It was a little bit weird." 

"Participants’ feeling weird as they processed assisting someone to die may point to a realization of the sacred, powerful control of the fates they are encountering. And I was surprised at how good I felt. 

"it puts me in a good mood."

We have normalized euthanasia. And now we learn that doctors enjoy killing people. The majority of the participants in the study had no religious affiliation. This doesn't surprise me. Who needs God when you can be God?

Developing and improving the skills of young people to learn about killing other people

The death industry is really about money. Clearly it's cheaper to kill people than to give them health care, palliative care, home care, mental health care, etc. It's about saving money, and in some cases, it's even about making money. 

For example, Dying with Dignity. 

In 2021 they received $1,653,893 in donations (why would anyone donate to these people anyway?). They actually had $8,000,000 in the bank that year. And they received $204,655 from the federal government in FY 2021. Why any company should receive grant money when they have this kind of money in the bank is beyond me.

But that wasn't enough. They also received two government grants from the Canada Summer jobs program for 2020 and 2021. To get this money, employers must:

"demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills." (emphasis added)

They have ten employees. Check out their salaries:

1 person earns $1 to $39,999

5 people earn $40,000 to $79,999

3 people earn $80,000 to $119,999

and the winner is...the one person who earns $160,000 to $199,999. 

Charity Intelligence who rates charities for donors (and not for the charities) gives DWD a 1 star rating (out of 5 stars). For each 

"dollar donated, after overhead costs of fundraising and admin/management (excluding surplus) 36 cents are available for programs."

That's a lot of overhead.

As Canada kills more and more of their undesirable people, I predict we will see this company do better and better financially.

Legal euthanasia: will anyone be safe?

Natalie Sonnen from LifeCanada speaks to Mark Sutcliffe on CFRA about Quebec's recent tabling of Bill 52 which would provide "medical aid to die". The podcast is the one for June 14 with Natalie's name on it.

She tells us that people in Belgium and the Netherlands are killed without their consent by both nurses and doctors. A frightening reality.

Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition tells us that the Quebec bill is in fact euthanasia, and not assisted suicide, like they would have us believe:

"On June 12, the Quebec national assembly introduced Bill 52: An Act respecting end-of-life care to legalize euthanasia in Quebec. Euthanasia is an action or omission that is directly and intentionally done to cause the death of another person, to eliminate suffering. Euthanasia is a form of homicide.

Yes, Bill 52 legalizes euthanasia, even though media reports and other groups continue to refer to it as assisted suicide."

See what else Schadenberg tells us about Belgium, quoting research from both the Canadian and British Medical Journals:

"A study that was published in the CMAJ(June 2010) examining the responses to questionnaires by nurses regarding their experience with euthanasia in Belgium found that even though the Belgian euthanasia law does not permit nurses to assist death, 14 nurses admitted to doing so and two of those nurses admitted that they did it without consulting a physician. Clearly these acts are outside of the legal parameters of the Belgian euthanasia law. The data found that usually the patient was in the hospital and over the age of 80.

A second study that was published by the BMJ(Nov 2010) examining data by Belgian doctors to questionnaires, found that 47% of all assisted deaths were not reported. The data also indicated that the legal requirement to consult a second physician was only done 73% of the time when the assisted death was reported and only 12% of the time when the assisted death was not reported. Unreported assisted deaths usually involved patients who were in the hospital and over the age of 80.

A third study was published in the CMAJ(June 2010) examining the responses by doctors in the Flanders region of Belgium to questionnaires found that 32% of the assisted deaths were done without explicit request. This study found that 91% of these assisted deaths were done to people who were unable to request an assisted death. Usually the patient was in the hospital and over the age of 80."

It only took 19 years for abortion to become a free for all in Canada when in 1988, the Supreme Court struck down our 1969 abortion law. We went from abortion being illegal, to being fully legal without restriction. If Quebec legalizes euthanasia, which province will be next and how long will it take the whole country to accept the practice?

And will it stop there? What about euthanizing younger people?

Read these ominous words from the Vancouver Sun:

"Claude Leblond, president of the provincial order of social workers and family therapists, said the bill is a major step forward.

"It took women years to get recognition for their fundamental right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy," he said. "When acquired, the right to seek medical aid in dying will be a comparable victory." [Killing people is a "victory"?]

He said while only requests by adults will now be considered, the day may come when the wishes of children will also have to be taken into account." [Euthanizing children?]

If we legalize euthanasia, the gap between who is safe from intentional killing and who is not safe, will only narrow. From abortion and infanticide (Peter Singer already advocates this) at the beginning of life--to euthanasia at the end of life, and maybe even children.

All it takes is 19 years.
