Abortion will end in God's time

Maureen and I had our own little pilgrimage on Friday (thanks to Maureen for her creative documentation of said pilgrimage).

First stop, the Ottawa Morgentaler place on Bank St. to pray the Rosary. Next stop, St. Patrick's Basilica for a beautiful Mass in honour of St. Patrick. It was our first opportunity to hear the Liturgy by Ottawa's Archbishop Marcel Damphousse.

You know, the pro-abortions have their abortions, and we have our prayers to end abortion. What we have is so much more powerful than their abortion ideology will ever be.

We know who wins in the end. All in God's time.

But, deliver us from evil

I was praying the Our Father this morning. When I recited the last line, I stopped. It hit me.

I remembered the blog post I had done yesterday. About the late-term abortions that are done for Quebec women who go to the US. And that frightful fact of aborting a child up to 36 weeks gestation.

Our Father, Who art in heaven.

How do they do it? How do they kill a child who is fully formed, who can breathe on its own, and knows it's mother's voice? How can they do it?

Hallowed be Thy Name.

I write about abortion. All the time. About the number of abortions that are done in Canada. I write about this a lot.

Thy Kingdom come.

I write about the money that goes to pay for abortion. I write about the doctors who commit these abortions. I write about the millions we give to our own Canadians to promote, celebrate and push abortion. All in the name of "choice".

Thy Will be done,

I write about the millions and millions we export to third world countries like Africa, so they too can have abortions.

on earth as it is in Heaven.

I write about our Godless politicians who promote abortion; who close their eyes to it; who spend our taxes on it.

Give us this day our daily bread.

It's one thing to close your eyes to the evil of abortion; it is quite another thing to promote it; to celebrate it; to pay for it; to export it.

And forgive us our trespasses,

Do they know what they are doing? It's hard to comprehend that they do not.

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Do these people ever pray? Do they ever think about God? Do they ever think about the child who might have been?

But, deliver us from evil. Amen.

Abortion will end because of our prayers

What a blessed day.

Maureen and I joined Fr. Tony and others today to pray to end abortion.

We also were able to go to St. Pat's Basilica for Mass and confession.

Whenever I see the persistence of faithful prayer warriors at the abortion site my heart is filled with hope that we will accomplish our goal.

Maureen took the pictures.

Do not be troubled nor disturbed by anything

Yesterday Maureen and I visited Fr. Tony at the abortion killing site. As usual Fr. Tony is there witnessing for the children who cannot speak for themselves. Witnessing for the children who are at the mercy of a Godless society that cares not for them. We do have hope though.

Fr. Tony reminded us of what Our Blessed Mother said to St. Juan Diego at Guadalupe in 1531:
“Listen, my son, to what I tell you now: do not be troubled nor disturbed by anything; do not fear illness nor any other distressing occurrence, nor pain. Am I not your mother? Am I not life and health? Have I not placed you on my lap and made you my responsibility? Do you need anything else?” (Holy card, With Ecclesiastical Approval, Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey, Lafayette, Oregon)
Fr. Tony changed his signs. See here for his source for his new wording on his signs.

Even though we don't always understand God's ways, and why the evil of abortion is allowed, God is in control. We entrust their tiny souls to Him as we pray and witness to end abortion. This is more precious than anything the pro-abortions have, as there is nothing precious about the slaughter of these holy innocents.

A prayer for health care professionals

Yesterday morning during prayer I was filled with gratitude for the men and women who refuse to participate in assisted suicide and abortion. They need our continual prayers and support.

God bless them all and keep them strong in their resolve to protect and defend the most vulnerable members of our society.

When evil spreads

Last week Maureen and I prayed at the Ottawa abortion clinic. It was very cold. It was very sad. It's always sad there. How could it not be?

In fact Canada is a very sad country, and getting sadder every day it seems. Unlimited abortion on demand, and now we'll have an assisted suicide regime to follow in abortion's foosteps.

And the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario wants to force doctors to refer anyway, even when they object to these practices.

While the world is outraged over ISIS, all of this is going on in our own backyard. With hardly a peep of protest from the average person.

It seems that prayer in front of an abortion clinic is all that some of us can do to stem the tide of the evil. A tide that's spreading. Right in front of our noses.
