Pierre Trudeau to Justin: we can be in total disagreement with someone, without denigrating them as a consequence

Justin Trudeau's eulogy of his father. This was his acting debut. When he first realized he could fake sincerity. Also notice Fidel Castro sitting behind his mother. I also notice there were a lot of Catholic clergy present at the pro-abortion Trudeau's funeral. (I couldn't find out who they were.)

Pierre Trudeau said this to Justin Trudeau when he was eight. (This bit starts at 6:20 minutes):

"Justin we do not attack the individual, we can be in total disagreement with someone, without denigrating them as a consequence...and he brought me over to introduce me to this man...and understanding that having opinions different from those of another, does not preclude giving respect of an individual because simple tolerance, mere tolerance is not enough, we need genuine and deep respect of each and every human being, not withstanding their thoughts their values, their beliefs...that's what my father demanded of his sons, and that is what he demanded of his country".

Seems Justin never took his father's advice. Think tolerance. Of Truckers. Of Pro-life people. Of people you don't agree with.

Pierre Trudeau: abortion not enshrined in Charter

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I expect you will appreciate my bringing to your attention, some very serious allegations you are frequently making, in regard to abortion.

Abortion is not a ‘Charter right’, and it is not a ‘human right’.

In the early 1980’s, Campaign Life Coalition worked very hard to have the right to life enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Prime Minister at the time, your father, assured us that the Charter would have no impact on the abortion question.

In a letter regarding a suggested amendment, dated July 6, 1981, to Archbishop MacNeil of Edmonton, the President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Prime Minister wrote: “The arguments advanced to show that the Charter will create an entitlement to abortion on demand have been clearly refuted in the opinion given by the Department of Justice. In my view, the need of an amendment has not been clearly demonstrated.”

Earlier, in June 1981, the Prime Minister stated: “Because the public is evenly divided on the subject of abortion it was the government’s ‘considered view’ that a position favouring one side should not be enshrined in the charter. The Government feels the issue is not one which should be defended by the Constitution.”

Over the years, your father's words have proven to be true, as abortion has never been declared to be a ‘Charter right’ by the Supreme Court of Canada. In fact, the Court has specifically held that there is a legitimate right for Parliament to legislate on the issue, should it so choose.

Additionally, for as long as the United Nations has existed, consensus has never been reached on the issue of abortion as a human right. Where abortion is alluded to in agreed conclusions (non-binding normative documents which are adopted at various UN commissions), it is cast in a negative light. For example, states should discourage abortion, it should not be promoted as a method of birth control and it should be exclusively addressed in national legislation. Although several UN agencies may agree with you, the majority of the 193 member states that make up the United Nations do not share your personal view that abortion is a human right.

It was quite clear by the authors of the Charter and continues to be clear by the United Nations that abortion isn’t a ‘right’, and it is unbecoming for the Prime Minister of Canada today, to deliberately utter a falsehood and to keep repeating it.

In future, we respectfully request that you refrain from either stating or implying that abortion is a ‘Charter right’, a ‘human right’ and is synonymous with ‘women’s rights’ as it is clearly not.

Justin Trudeau - Charter doesn't grant a right to abortion

Justin Trudeau tries to use his Father's views on abortion, to rationalize his own illogical views, on not allowing those who are against abortion, to becoming Liberal candidates:

"I had an extraordinary example in a father who had deeply, deeply held personal views that were informed by the fact that he went to church every Sunday, read the Bible regularly to us, and raised us very religiously, as Catholics. But at the same time my father had no problem legalizing divorce, decriminalizing homosexuality and moving in ways that recognized the basic rights of the people. He too held fast to his beliefs. But he also understood that as leaders, as political figures, and as representatives of a larger community, our utmost responsibility is to stand up for people’s rights. 

I share my father’s view of leadership in this regard..."

Yet Pierre Trudeau the senior said:

“You know, at some point you are killing life in the fetus in self-defence, of what, of the mother’s health, or her happiness, or of her social rights or her privilege as a human being? I think she should have to answer for it and explain. Now, whether it should be to three doctors, or one doctor, or to a priest or a bishop or to her mother-in-law is a question you might want to argue, you do have a right over your own body, it is your body. But the fetus is not your body; it’s someone else’s body, and if you kill it, you’ll have to explain,” 

Junior also never tires of saying that abortion is protected under the Charter:

"I would expect incoming MPs to vote in favour of a woman’s right to choose, which has historically found protection under Section 7 of the Charter."

But abortion is not protected under the Charter. Not now. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow.

Justin Trudeau - the son differs from the father

Huffington Post likes Justin Trudeau's disrespectful tweet to former Liberal MPs. Which, as I said yesterday, means Justin doesn't get it, and worse, he doesn't get it that he doesn't get it. Ditto for HP.

So I asked myself what could the end result be of these pro-abortions, who can't see past their precious choice to kill pre-born babies? Do they not realize the harm this kind of thinking would do for all of our freedom of conscience rights? Because that is what this is about. It really has nothing to do with their "choice". It has to do with their supporting a politician who can dictate how his party members think, and what they believe.

In short, Justin wants all his MPs to think and believe, exactly the same way he does. The next logical step, would be to get all the citizens to think and believe, exactly the same way he does.
