Justin Trudeau what is your evidence that pro-life groups "actively work to spread misinformation about abortion"?

(Letter sent to Justin Trudeau from Maureen Ward. See here.)

Dear Mr. Trudeau,

If you really are pro-choice and not pro-abortion then you wouldn’t be at war with charitable pro-life groups who quite often are the only places that provide real substantial help to pregnant women in crisis. In many cases these women and their children have been abandoned by their friends and their family. Crisis pregnancy centres help these women in crisis.

If you were truly pro-choice, you would support crisis pregnancy centres (CPCs).

As you are well aware, CPCs receive no funding from the government. Yet "pro-choice" groups receive millions and millions of taxpayers' money. As an example Mr. Trudeau, you provided groups like Planned Parenthood Toronto, with 3.4 million dollars in Government funds in 2020 alone. In fact, as of 2019 over a billion dollars has been provided to groups that promote abortion and abortion counseling across Canada. Please see here for those details.

https://run-with-life.blogspot.com/2019/09/the-scandal-of-raking-in-tax-dollars_13.html

Mr. Trudeau, to add insult to injury, you plan to take away the Charitable Status from these groups that offer love and support, life-affirming counseling, prayer, and much more.

And on top of everything else, you are now saying to Canadians that these groups are spreading misinformation and are hurtful to women. Mr. Trudeau, can you please provide me with your evidence for these very serious allegations of which you speak?

Perhaps you should visit one of these Centres, such as the Miriam Centre (https://miriamcentre.ca/) or Birthright (https://birthright.org/ottawa/), right here in Ottawa and see firsthand the good work they do. These centres are 100% funded by donors.

These Charities that you want to strip of Charitable Status provide love, hope, emotional support, a shoulder to cry on and prayer, not to mention diapers, formula, baby supplies, food and shelter, and much more. Isn’t that the true meaning of charity?

Please Mr. Trudeau for the sake of the women and children and all Canadians do not do this.

Sincerely,

Maureen Ward

Justin Trudeau's crusade against pro-life groups continues

Justin Trudeau's decision to revoke the status of pro-life organizations, and in particular crisis pregnancy centres, is wrong headed and vindictive. Unlike organizations who promote abortion, pro-life groups receive no government funding whatsoever. For example, in 2020 Planned Parenthood Toronto received $3,461,811.00 in one year alone according to CRA. Many of these pro-choice groups also have charitable status; an added benefit. All together, these groups received more than a billion dollars in government funding as of 2019. (https://run-with-life.blogspot.com/2019/08/the-scandal-of-raking-in-tax-dollars.html).

All pro-life groups "get" is the ability to issue tax receipts. The difference in how these two groups are treated is staggering. Since most pro-life groups, if not all of them, are Christian charities, clearly this is discrimination based on religious and conscience rights.

Regarding crisis pregnancy centres (CPCs) which have been specifically targeted by this Liberal hit job, the Abortion Rights Coalition ARCC has also taken aim for many years at these centres. Why? Because CPCs are pro-life.

Executive director of ARCC Joyce Arthur, has repeatedly engaged in a witch hunt against CPCs, spreading myths and misinformation about CPCs for many years now. ARCC wrote two reports, both of which have been debunked for numerous falsehoods against CPCs. The first report received a $27,400 federal government grant to write the report.

The first report was also written by Joyce Arthur through her previous organization the Pro-Choice Action Network which is no longer active. Joyce Arthur received that $27,000 grant from the Status of Women. That grant was never publicly acknowledged by Arthur, even though acknowledgement was a condition of receiving the grant money. I discovered the grant through an ATIP https://run-with-life.blogspot.com/2013/01/joyce-arthurs-pro-can-grant.html

The two rebuttals against Arthur's attack reports:

The first rebuttal was written by the Executive director of CAPSS. The second rebuttal was written by me.

Trudeau's war against pro-life Canadians began with banning pro-life MPs from his party; continued with stopping the few breadcrumbs pro-life groups received from the Canada Summer Jobs program; and now he wants to prevent their donors from receiving tax receipts. Pro-life groups are 100% donor funded. Taking away their charitable status is wrong, mean and frankly, childish. In the interest of fairness and equity, this must stop.

The scandal of raking in tax dollars (part 3)

A lot of public funding goes to progressive groups. Perhaps that is why there are so many of these organizations in the first place--they know they can, and do, receive billions in government grants.

We've already seen the $1,550,884,070 given to Canada Summer Jobs recipients and “reproductive choice” advocates. Today I look at the LGBT / pride parade lobby, the other side of this favoured coin.

Keep in mind that pro-life groups get nothing from these political handouts. Pro-life groups are self funded and totally dependent on their donors for their very existence. In fact, I wonder how many of these progressive groups would even exist if it weren't for all this government funding they receive?

You might also remember that in 2014 Ottawa's Capital Pride went bankrupt, leaving many suppliers very unhappy, and very unpaid. Fast forward to 2017 and we learn that Capital Pride is now getting money from grants each year from the federal government. And they aren't the only pride parades/festivals to receive funding. I counted 22 of them. Below are the top four recipients, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

CAPITAL PRIDE / FIERTÉ DANS LA CAPITALE (LA) Canada $35,300 2019-04-02
CAPITAL PRIDE / FIERTÉ DANS LA CAPITALE (LA) Canada $75,000 2019-02-08
CAPITAL PRIDE / FIERTÉ DANS LA CAPITALE (LA) Canada $7,594 2018-05-14
CAPITAL PRIDE / FIERTÉ DANS LA CAPITALE (LA) Canada $22,000 2018-02-26
CAPITAL PRIDE / FIERTÉ DANS LA CAPITALE (LA) Canada $17,300 2017-02-22

Total for Capital Pride $157,194

Pride Toronto Canada $1,000,000 2019-01-28
Pride Toronto Canada $92,200 2019-04-01
Pride Toronto Canada $41,766 2018-04-30
PRIDE TORONTO Canada $250,000 2018-11-07
PRIDE TORONTO Canada $92,200 2017-11-03
PRIDE TORONTO Canada $125,700 2016-11-16

Total for Toronto Pride $1,601,866

FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $5,000 2019-07-22
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $160,000 2019-04-01
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $80,700 2019-04-01
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $11,700 2019-04-01
Fierté Montréal Canada $2,471 2018-05-01
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $92,400 2018-04-01
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $20,000 2017-08-14
Fierté Montréal Canada $100,000 2017-07-25
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $93,300 2017-03-23
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $250,000 2016-10-07
FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL Canada $91,500 2016-04-08
Fierté Montréal|Fierté Montréal Canada $1,000,000 2019-05-27
Fierté Montréal|Fierté Montréal Canada $300,000 2018-07-27

Total for Montreal Pride $2,207,071

VANCOUVER PRIDE SOCIETY Canada $80,700 2019-07-14
VANCOUVER PRIDE SOCIETY Canada $1,000,000 2019-05-30
Vancouver Pride Society Canada $8,822 2019-04-23
Vancouver Pride Society Canada $6,902 2018-04-23
Vancouver Pride Society Canada $72,600 2018-02-26
Vancouver Pride Society Canada $63,900 2017-02-22
Vancouver Pride Society Canada $79,100 2016-04-29
Total for Vancouver Pride $1,312,024

Notice the trend to increase funding every year for pride parades / festivals. If Justin Trudeau wins the 2019 election I expect to see these government handouts double.

This funding also includes (in addition to my previous SJP funding here) $307,457 for the Canada Summer Jobs.

Canadian pride festivals: $6,165,266
Canadian LGBT organizations (other than pride/parades festivals): $8,374,519
Canadian LGBT research grants: $13,275,313
Foreign grants going to foreign LGBT organizations and research: $4,524,123

Add this to my previous total of $32,339,221 + $1,550,884,070 for a whopping grand total of $158,322,3291 or almost $1.6 billion to these Justin Trudeau favoured entities.

Note 1: I haven't taken into account the municipal and provincial funding for these groups. Those grant disclosures will be up next.

Note 2: No federal funds were given to Jesus festivals or to Pro-life festivals or Pro-life marches.

The scandal of raking in tax dollars (part 2)

“ . . .there’s no moral equivalence between anti-choice groups and pro-choice groups." Joyce Arthur August 2019
Further to my previous report on government funding to organizations who signed the Options letter, there is even more government funding going to these kinds of organizations that promote/support/fund abortion. Many of them are foreign companies, but also Canadian companies.

(This letter was initiated by Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights.)

This post uncovers some of that funding to these organizations.

(Other funding to Canadian organizations will be disclosed in subsequent posts.)

Today I can tell you that Justin Trudeau's Liberals are funding at least 1,398,412,544 dollars to groups who promote/support/fund abortion. That is $1,007,110,155 as reported by Global affairs plus an additional $391,302,389 going to many of these same international organizations (for some reason not reported by Global Affairs), along with Canadian feminist organizations. All in the name of reproductive choice.

(Notice this caveat at the Global Affairs link: “All data is preliminary and will be updated regularly as more information becomes available through project implementation. Given operational sensitivities certain projects contributing SRHR are not included in this list.” Why not? What are they hiding from us?)

If you are a feminist organization, the Canadian government's pockets' are very deep.

A couple of interesting things in the data jumped out at me:
  • Abortion doctor Wendy Norman received $2,434,814
  • The Clintons received $19,950,000 for Sexual and Reproductive Health for Women and Adolescents in Northern Nigeria. (Abortion is generally illegal in Nigeria.)
  • Aga Khan Foundation Canada received $19,449,291 for Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health in Cabo Delgado. (Aga Khan of Justin Trudeau's first conflict of interest fame)
  • More Canada summer job funding
  • Over one million to Regroupement féministe du Nouveau-Brunswick inc (good work if you can get it)
Most of these Canadian dollars go to abortion in Africa and Central America, where for the most part, abortion is illegal. Over one billion dollars worth of reproductive choice.

Obianuju Ekeocha in her book Target Africa – Ideological neocolonialism in the twenty-first Century tells us that Africans do not want abortion. That Africans love big families. That Africans value all human life. That most Africans are against abortion. She should know, being born and raised in Kenya:

“A 2014 Ipsos study found that 87 percent of Kenyans oppose abortion on demand...The vast majority of Africans said that abortion was morally unacceptable: 92 percent of Ghanaians, 88 percent of Ugandans, 82 percent of Kenyans, 80 of Nigerians, and 77 of Tunisians said they considered abortion to be morally wrong.”

She tells us about the Maputo Protocol which was supposed to bring rights to African women. This is what Obianuju Ekeocha says about article 14 of the Protocol:

“It is obvious that article 14 was incorporated into the Maputo Protocol in order to open the door to legal abortion throughout the continent...it has become the most lobbied, campaigned, and promoted by Western-funded feminist organizations across Africa. Millions of dollars have been given to weaponize the forty words of the article that provide a license to kill Africa's unborn children.” [Are you listening mister feminist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau?]

Obianuju Ekeocha also argues against accepting the billions of dollars in aid given to Africa. She says that aid is tied to

“control over many aspects of African life, including sexual behaviour and reproduction rates.”

She concludes with this:
“So why is it acceptable for wealthy Westerners to send along contraceptives with their humanitarian aid after a hurricane or another natural disaster? Trying to stop people in the developing world from having children should be considered appalling, especially since doing it is not a development strategy. It is an invasion strategy, and that is why Africa must walk away from aid.”
That's now a total of $1,550,884,070 ($152,471,526 from my last post + 1,398,412,544) Canadian taxpayer funding to organizations that promote/support/fund abortion. And counting...

In case you had any doubt that abortion is big business.

The scandal of raking in tax dollars

UPDATE July 29: Clarification on the government funding totals. The groups who signed the letter who opposed funding to pro-life groups, received a total of  $152,471,526 in government funding. This number includes funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program, as well as other federal government funding, as well as provincial and municipal government funding. The link below to the data identifies all of these funding details.

(This was first published July 24 at the Interim)

The pro-abortion groups who actively worked to ban pro-life groups from receiving the Canada Summer Jobs Program--strongly benefited from that same Canada Summer Jobs Program. And they benefited from lots of other government funding as well.

Last year Joyce Arthur reported that pro-life groups had received $1.8 in funding for the Canada Summer jobs program over eight years. That's a pittance really, especially since it was over eight years.

Arthur and company then lobbied to stop this funding. This resulted in the Liberal's attestation clause, which meant anyone applying for the grant money would now have to support abortion. Part of Arthur's campaign, was a letter written and signed by 91 "reproductive choice" groups.

(This letter was initiated by Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights.)

Here's what Arthur said about this funding to pro-life groups:
"The real scandal is not the new Canada Summer Jobs attestation requirement, but the fact that anti-choice groups have been raking in all this taxpayer cash for years."

So how much money did these pro-abortion signatories "rake in" since Justin Trudeau came to power in 2016? Over 152 million ($152,471,526 to be exact).

That's our 1.8 millioncompared to their $152.5 million

I say at least, because the two databases I searched are not up-to-date. The grants and contributions database is currently being updated for 2019 grants. There are also grants and contributions not in the database at all. The other database is CRA's charities database. I only extracted two years of this CRA data, since tax returns are always reported well after the fact, and I only extracted records since Justin Trudeau came to power in 2016. And these numbers do not even include the funding for the actual abortions. That's millions and millions of dollars more.

It seems Justin Trudeau's abortion funding knows no bounds.

(There are other organizations who also support abortion and who also receive federal, provincial and municipal funding. That will be a project for a later date. This analysis only covers the signatories of this Open Letter.)

You will see that most of these organizations do benefit from the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Along with other federal funding, provincial funding, and municipal funding.

Pushing abortion is a very lucrative business. The money just pours out of our pockets into the pockets of the pro-abortions.

Pro-life groups receive no other federal funds, except for the Summer Jobs grants. And now we can't even receive that.

We are not "well-funded" but the pro-abortions are. Pro-life groups fund themselves in the work they do, to save lives. Pro-abortion groups are funded by the taxpayer in the work they do, to take lives. That Joyce Arthur, is the real scandal.
