Poor Planned Parenthood Ottawa - stop your bellyaching

Ah. Poor Planned Parenthood Ottawa. They think they are under attack. And they have managed to get the media to cry with them. Boo hoo:

"Planned Parenthood is under attack in the United States, where anti-abortion activists are trying to get its funding cut in Republican-controlled states. In the U.S."

Writer Elizabeth Payne first mentions Planned Parenthood in the US, but notice there is no mention why PP is under attack in the US. You know, for the illegal selling of fetal body parts? The huge news story that no Canadian newspapers are writing about?

When Ms. Payne called me about PPPO I asked her if she was writing about PPPO's selling of body parts. She said no, and a follow up email asking her to write about that pathetic news story went unanswered. In fact, none of the mainstream media in Canada has tackled this disgusting story at all.

Can you say biased?

Notice that PPPO's sad tale of woe is blaming an unknown "small group" for their problems:

“A small group who oppose health care for women and trans people have put unacceptable pressure on Planned Parenthood Ottawa’s funders … harassing them and threatening to expose them in the media.” 

She said callers have asked some funders to “stop funding sex ed, contraception or counselling. It’s not about abortion. They oppose our health care.”

So is Ms. Payne just taking PPPO's word for it that some group is targeting PPPO's funders? Which funders? Which group is doing the targeting? There's no specific details here at all. Doesn't even sound like a news story, more of a pity-party-whine-fest from PPPO.

There's no mention of the most likely real reason people might be targeting PP in the first place. As in just maybe it's about the exposé of Planned Parenthood Federation of America's (PPFA) "illegal selling fetal body parts" in the US.

If PPPO is being systematically targeted, great. Not because we oppose "women, youth or trans people " as Dobson-Hughes says, but because we oppose PPPO's pro-abortion ideology and because in Canada they make abortion referrals. What part of that simple idea is so hard for the pro-abortions to understand?

It's doubtful my blog resulted in PPPO's appeal. More likely PPPO is putting their own spin on the U.S. story to get more funding. Which brings me to what really gets my knickers in a twist. Why does PPPO get funding from Government organizations like the Canadian War Museum and the National Arts Centre, and the the Museum of Civilization, when crisis pregnancy centres do not get public funding, and the one time they did, fake person made sure it was revoked?

PPPO, get over yourself.

Suzanne Fortin makes a good point.

So what does COHEN BARRACK, ANDREA, CEO of Trillium make? A nice big whopping $209,572 a year. Not bad I must say.

And I wonder what she also makes as Chairperson of International Planned Parenthood for Canada?

Fake Person doesn't want any public money to go to crisis pregnancy centres.

But I guess it's just fine and dandy that the CEO of the very same organization that doles out our money, makes over 200,000 a year, but revokes money from an organization that helps support women through crisis pregnancies.

Good grief.

So who quashed funding for CPC?

Remember when Fake Person complained to Trillium, and then Trillium revoked funding to Pregnancy Options and Support Centre in Sarnia?

And guess who the Chairperson is of International Planned Parenthood for Canada? Andrea Cohen Barrack

The one and the same person.

So let's see.

A government organization, that doles out our tax dollars, is headed by someone, who also just happens to head up an organization, that promotes abortion as a valid and neutral choice. And then the former organization revokes funding for another organization who does not promote abortion.

Isn't that the interesting little story?

CPC - funding revoked based on fake person's word

Apparently the Ontario Trillium Foundation revoked the funds to the Pregnancy Options and Support Centre in Sarnia because Trillium:

"had an issue with the principles that were driving the umbrella organization: CAPPS.” and because "their revised policy now explicitly prohibits the funding of activities that seek to limit the legal rights and activities of Ontarians."

Trillium did this based on the word of one anonymous blogger.

What did this anonymous blogger tell Trillium to make them do this? What was the source of the information they used to base their decision to revoke the funds? Was the information vetted as valid, substantiated and factual? Because if it was, the grant money would not have been rescinded.

As a taxpayer funded Ontario group who dispenses with our money, one hopes that such serious decisions to revoke already granted funds is not based on information that in and of itself is grossly inaccurate.

Anyone who knows anything, knows that the Canadian Association of Pregnancy Support Services (CAPSS) would never seek "to limit the legal rights and activities of Ontarians." Except perhaps a cowardly anonymous blogger who has made their mission in life to destroy these CPCs whose work is to support women in crisis pregnancy situations. Maybe the anonymous blogger doesn't like women.

As I've already said, my guess is that Trillium probably received a copy of the National Enquirer-esque Scholarly Document (NESD) penned by pro-abortion Joyce Arthur called Exposing Crisis Pregnancy Centres in BC. A report that was replete with inaccuracies, hearsay and fiction.

Which is kind of ironic, when you remember that Arthur received a cool $27,400 for that piece of nonsense (that never was vetted as valid, substantiated and factual) from Status of Woman Canada. Money that she also never publicly acknowledged receiving, contrary to the rules of these grants.

I've now asked Trillium to tell me what they used to base their revocation of these funds. I've also asked them to read Brian Norton's own rebuttal of Arthur's report. 

Trillium needs to base their funding decisions on hard facts and not on fairy tales concocted by people without a name.

Oh. And I also signed my letter with my real name.
