Write a letter and tell the government to end MAID

It's hard not to laugh. Dying with Dignity is all cranky pants because they don't like that the feds have introduced legislation for advance requests for MAID, but with restrictions. They don't like the restrictions.

DWDC has been lobbying the government hard and fast for years to increase MAID rules, and advance requests is just one of their many MAID hobby horses. DWDC is a VERY lucrative charity raking in millions every year in donations. For them, the more MAID the better. And they want you, the taxpayer, to write to the feds and complain on their behalf.

So I took the liberty to take the letter that they propose you write, and put my own spin on it.

As you know, the federal government has introduced legislation that would allow for the use of advance requests for medical assistance in dying (MAID) in certain circumstances, but only in provinces and territories that pass legislation regulating their registry and use. 

Year after year we have been pushing for advance requests for MAID. And year after year, more and more Canadians are being euthanized. 

So I am calling on your government to immediately stop all MAID.  

An advance request is a written document that specifies in what circumstance an individual would want to be provided with MAID if they lose decision-making capacity due to a medical condition. Advanced requests are a diabolical way for an individual to decide and articulate their end-of-life choices that can be respected later. 

Without the option of drafting an advance request, many people's lives across Canada will be saved. They will have more time with loved ones. They can enjoy life until their natural death. How good is that? 

It is imperative that your government act now and abolish all MAID in Canada now, and forever.
