Dying with Dignity -- More government lobbying

It looks like Dying with Dignity has a new consultant lobbying Health Canada on their behalf: Puneet Luthra, Company is P S Luthra Consulting Inc.

Last year DWDC spent $213,171 on consulting fees. That's pocket change for them considering their total revenue was $3,791,596 and they had $7,370,174 in long term investments. No wonder they lobby government so much.

Subject Matter Details

Dying With Dignity Canada seeks to influence the Government of Canada to allow for advance requests for medical assistance in dying (MAID) for people who have a diagnosis of a grievous and irremediable medical condition. (from the lobbyist website)

Dying with Dignity lobbies government all summer long

Dying with Dignity has been very busy this summer. While everyone else was on vacation, DWDC was lobbying MPs about their euthanasia ideology.

(Reminder: lobbying for euthanasia is a very lucrative business for DWDC: donations were $3,791,596 in 2024; they had $9,231,137 in assets, of which $7,370,174 is in long term investments; their CEO earns between $200,000 and $249,999 a year. It is no wonder DWDC can lobby the government incessantly--they've got the finances to do so)

They managed to lobby all of these MPs between July 15 and August 29.

  • Kristina Tesser Derksen, Member of Parliament | House of Commons
  • Braedon Clark, Member of Parliament | House of Commons
  • Kajan Ratneswaran, Manager, Health Policy Branch | Health Canada (HC)
  • Patricia Lattanzio, Member of Parliament, PS Justice | House of Commons
  • Leslie Church, Parliamentary Secretary, Labour, for Seniors, and for Children and Youth, and to the Minister of Jobs and Families (Persons with Disabilities) | House of Commons

DWDC's two current lobbyists are: Tom Potter, Blackbird Strategies, Ltd. and CEO Helen Long.

More on Dying with Dignity and their successful euthanasia business.
