Abortions in Manitoba show disturbing rise in medical abortions

Manitoba's abortion rates are going up. I received recent numbers thanks to Kyle Coffey from CCBR based on an FOI he did. The 2018/2019 numbers he received are even higher than what I reported on last year, particularly for medical abortions.

For 2019/2020, in Manitoba we see even more medical abortions (including numbers for previous years which have been adjusted upwards) - they are quickly catching up to the numbers of surgical abortion numbers.

This also means that CIHI's data which doesn't report on medical abortions, will also be underreported even more than they have been.

Very troubling indeed.

Time to talk to Justin Trudeau again

''Injustice that is invisible inevitably becomes tolerable but Injustice that is visible inevitably becomes intolerable" Gregg Cunningham

Dear Justin Trudeau,

It's been a long time since we've talked. What I mean is, it's been a long time since I talked and you ignored me, but you know what I mean.

So today I thought I should talk to you again. And you can just ignore me again.

Anyway, recently I listened to the first podcast from the Pro-life Guys who work with CCBR. You remember CCBR? You once said that CCBR shouldn't receive government funds because they "oppose a woman's right" to kill her pre-born child.

(Each episode includes this quote from you. How exciting is that?)

It's a really great podcast. I think you should listen to it. Though I know you won't.

What's really great about this podcast, is that it explores and discusses pro-life apologetics. Why being pro-life is good and right. How abortion is illogical if you are a defender of human rights for all people, etc.
"We’re two guys who are passionate about ending the killing of pre-born children in Canada, and this is a podcast dedicated to giving you the tools you need to change minds and save lives from abortion. Join us as we discuss all the pro-choice justifications for abortion and share how we counteract them on the streets and talk to some of the leaders in the movement to hear their stories and learn from them!
I find it really heartening that there is a whole new generation of young people ready willing and able, to do this work. And they're really young. And they're really smart.
"We are too young to realize that certain things are impossible so we will do them anyway" William Wilberforce
Even though you've decided that CCBR can't receive tax dollars for the work they do, (unlike the millions and millions you give to those who kill pre-born children and to their supporters), these young people still do the work they do. That's called determination.

I wonder why Joyce Arthur and Fern Hill don't have a pro-choice apologetics podcast. They could call it the Pro-choice Girls. And they could defend their position on how a woman's (non-existent) right to kill a child she doesn't want, is a legitimate point of view. I bet you'd listen to that podcast eh Mr. Trudeau?

Sincerely,
Patricia Maloney

21 reasons why graphic abortion pictures work and why the pro-abortions hate them

The pro-abortions really hate graphic abortion pictures. They really really hate them. Why? Because when people see these pictures of what an abortion actually looks like, something kind of miraculous happens. People change their minds about abortion.

I finally read my latest newsletter from CCBR. In it were 21 testimonies from interns. The testimonies detail the hearts that were changed when the interns showed these pictures to people on the street.

So next time you see one of these images on the street, you may also see someone who is having their mind (or heart) changed about abortion.

Good job guys and gals. You are amazing.

The need for disgusting postcards

An Ottawa woman is disgusted with CLCY's graphic abortion flyer targeting federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau. And so she should be. That's because what the postcards depict--is disgusting.

This is what Alissa Golob said about the postcards:
"Slavery and the holocaust — abuses like these have changed using graphic images. So we're just using a strategy that works."
Maybe if Trudeau reversed his edict that pro-life people cannot run for the Liberal party, there wouldn't be such a dire need to distribute the postcards.

1,000,000 postcards coming soon to a mailbox near you

CCBR and CLCY have set a goal to accomplish the biggest pro-life campaign in Canadian History.
“This is the biggest pro-life campaign in Canadian history,” says Jonathon Van Maren, communications director for the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform. “The#No2Trudeau campaign has two primary goals: to revitalize and expand the pro-life base, and begin rebuilding a public consensus on the abortion issue.”
Van Maren says Canada has become a majority pro-abortion country in the last 40 years. However, numerous public opinion polls have shown that most Canadians are unaware of Canada’s complete lack of restrictions on abortion.
In response, the #No2Trudeau campaign plans to distribute one million information postcards across Canada, conduct research to identify pro-life voters and mobilize volunteers to support pro-life candidates in the upcoming election. The campaign also includes a speaking tour making stops in 23 cities across Canada.
Once those post cards start arriving in people's mailboxes across the country, the pro-abortions will be having kittens. In fact I think some of them already are.

Human rights belong to everyone

Graphic abortion flyers anger neighbourhood

People in Ottawa don't like graphic abortion flyers at their door. That's because graphic abortion pictures show us a truth that people would prefer not to know.
"Parents can't shield their kids from everything, said Ruth Shaw, a stay-at-home mom who founded the local group and as a Carleton University student was arrested for trespassing for demonstrating on campus with graphic images of aborted fetuses.
"In that moment, there's a great teaching opportunity to teach our children that we shouldn't hurt children, that everyone deserves rights and we should do what we can to stop other people from being hurt," she said."
This teaching opportunity is also really needed for the children's parents. Because many parents don't get that human rights belong to all of us. Even the preborn child.

NDP MP Chris Charlton faces the children

The riding of NDP MP Chris Charlton is the latest target of CCBR's postcard campaign.
"CCBR targeted Charlton because of her opposing vote on Motion 312, which called for a committee to reevaluate Canada’s abortion laws."
Good.
"Charlton says she is concerned about the emotional effect these images could have on the families and children who may see them. Her office has heard from dozens of upset callers."
This kind of reaction always puzzles me. If abortion on demand, for any reason, or for no reason, at any time, is just another publicly funded "medically necessary procedure", as the pro-abortions would have us believe, why do they get upset over these postcards? The postcards are just showing the truth of what abortion is.

Could it because they know abortion is the killing of an innocent, voiceless, human being?

Charlton said:
“From my perspective people have the right to debate ideas with me... but I really believe I ought to be the target—not residents in my riding”
But the residents of Hamilton have a right to know where their MPs stand on abortion. This is an excellent way to accomplish this, Ms. Charlton.

For instance, for my own MP Mauril Belanger, people in Ottawa-Vanier also have a right to know that he is "pro-abortion-choice".

It's all good, when people are made well aware of where their MPs stand on the dismembering, decapitation and disembowelment of innocent human beings.

(CBC censored out the graphic part of the image below. Pretty much what I'd expect from the "pro-abortion-choice" CBC)

Stephen Harper must face the Children

CCBR's campaign, Face the Children, has just released its fourth post card to constituents in MP Parm Gill's riding. The previous three MPs were Stephen Harper, Michelle Rempel and Bal Gosal.

When the campaign was first launched, the Calgary Sun's Michale Platt didn't seem too pleased with the campaign:
Anti-abortion advocates use repulsive tactics to get message across in Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Calgary riding.

His article used words like "upsetting", "despicable", "disgusting" and "repulsive" in describing the campaign and people's reactions to it. Well yea--isn't that like stating the obvious? Abortion is upsetting, despicable, disgusting and repulsive.

Everyone knows that the euphemistic word "choice" doesn't convey the actual choice being made: the choice to kill an innocent human life. These postcards convey this truth. If people are upset with the pictures, they should ask themselves, why are they upset?

Mr. Harper refuses to enact legislation to limit abortion in any way in this country. He also denies us the forum to even have an abortion debate--in our Parliament. And many other MPs, like those being targeted in this campaign, sing from the same song book.

So the postcards depict the abortion debate--that we can't have--in a graphic and truthful way. If we can't debate abortion in Parliament, then we must debate it elsewhere. That is what CCBR is doing: bringing the debate to the people.

Mr. Harper has the power to do something about abortion in Canada. But he won't. So he and the other MPs will have to face the children they won't protect.

Globe and Mail - your bias is showing

We all know where the Globe and Mail's bias lies concerning abortion. And it isn't pro-life.

This article: How abortion protests are coming to Toronto's high school steps criticizes CCBR's bloody abortion displays outside Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute. I expected no less.

Here are a few "choice" sentiments in case anyone didn't catch it:
“There’s nothing we can do; they stand off school property,” said spokeswoman Shari Schwartz-Maltz. “If members of the community take exception to what they’re saying or their tactics, they are absolutely encouraged to phone the police.”

"Some Toronto parents are fuming, not only at the presence of the pro-life group but also because the TDSB hasn’t informed them of the group making the rounds outside secondary schools. “They send us a letter home if some kid has lice. They send us a letter home if there’s been a shooting. Why hasn’t anything been sent home saying ‘Just in case you’re not aware, there is a pro-life group that has been picketing various high schools, and we’ve told kids not to engage’?”

"Others, mainly boys, were infuriated by the presence of a pro-life group. As the discussion heated up, school administrators pull them away."

"Arthur Morris was so angry, he was shaking. “I don’t have a problem with them protesting. Freedom of speech, I’m all for that. But I have a problem with this, these images, right outside of school,” said the 16-year-old. “Don’t force your religion, and it’s largely a religious thing, don’t force your religion onto others.”

(Why do pro-choice people always fall back to religion as a motivation for being pro-life? Notice how they never explain the connection between the two. And who is "forcing" religion on anybody? We aren't even talking about religion.)

“I think it’s ridiculous,” said Hayden McKinnon, 18. He added: “They’re at a high school. They’re showing pictures of dead fetuses right on the corner... I think all women should have a choice.”

(How ironic. The purposes of the pictures is to graphically depict that "choice", Hayden. Don't you get it?)

"Kerry Bowman, a professor of bioethics at the University of Toronto, worries that vulnerable students are being targeted by a group that is not providing information, but rather using manipulative language and advertising techniques to recruit."

(If dead bloody fetuses are not information in the truest sense of the word, then what are they?)

“When you combine the manipulative techniques with a population that is still forming their values and beliefs, I see an ethical red flag going up,” Prof. Bowman said. “You’re really playing to win. It’s not a just a question of informing people about this issue; it’s much more manipulative.”

(How is speaking the truth, manipulative? And ethical red flag? Uh, isn't abortion an ethical issue? One could argue that not showing dead bloody fetuses to someone considering an abortion, would be an ethical red flag, Professor.)

"Ms. Christopoulos said schools have a responsibility, however, to inform the community. Her 16-year-old daughter did not think much of the group showing up at her high school. Ms. Christopoulos was furious that her daughter and her friends were being targeted."

“I think it’s inappropriate. If you want to make a point, then I think you should be approaching people who are in a position to be making those kind of decisions,” she said. “I don’t think my 16-year-old daughter is.”

(Teenagers certainly make the decision to have abortions; therefore they are quite capable of seeing what the abortion "choice" looks like.)

Notice how the Globe didn't interview one person who agrees with showing the signs, and maybe even had their heart changed while viewing those pictures or talking with the CCBR folks. Interesting don't you think?

How Reproductive Justice affects the pre-born child: silent screams cannot be heard but broken bodies can be seen

January 28, 2013: For Immediate Release (From CCBR press release)

25 Years of Bloodshed: Anti-Abortion Youth Activists Across Canada Mourn Morgentaler Anniversary

“January 28 is a solemn day that impacts every Canadian, whether they realize it or not. Due to R. v. Morgentaler, our streets are emptier, our pre-born brothers and sisters live tenuously in a state of constant danger, and a generation of girls has been sold the insidious lie that their sons and daughters are disposable for any arbitrary reason at all,” said Stephanie Gray, executive director of CCBR who was just 7 years old when the Morgentaler decision passed.

“A new generation of young people are rising up to say stop killing our generation,” she continued. “Canada has failed miserably to live up to the standards of our Constitution and our Charter. When we say 'everyone' has a right to life, we need to mean everyone, including the youngest of our kind.”

Gray said that her group uses graphic abortion imagery because “pre-born childrens’ silent screams cannot be heard but their broken bodies can be seen—which cry out for justice.”

CCBR launches - Face the Children

Press release from CCBR:

"September 25, 2012: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

National Anti-Abortion Group Sends Message To MPs on Eve of Motion 312 Vote

The Toronto and Calgary-based anti-abortion group the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR: www.unmaskingchoice.ca) released video of abortion-supporting members of Parliament Nikki Ashton (Churchill, Manitoba) and Irene Mathyssen (London-Fanshawe, Ontario) defending abortion in Canada interspersed with gruesome clips of aborted fetuses.

CCBR says it is sending a message to all Members of Parliament ahead of the vote on Motion 312: “If you won’t protect the children, you will face the children.”

“Too long have Canada’s pro-abortion politicians had a free pass while pro-life politicians are viciously attacked,” said executive director Stephanie Gray. “It’s time to show Canadians what they are defending, and who they are betraying.”

The group says the video is just the start of a much larger project they are working on that includes both an online and on the ground component, which they have dubbed “Face the Children.”

“If politicians are going to abandon the most vulnerable Canadians, it’s time their constituents were aware of their position,” said Gray. “And we are prepared to educate voters on what abortion is, and what their MP said about it.”

CCBR and weneedaLAW talk about abortion

Does Canada have any legal protection for preborn children?

What kind of legal restrictions on abortion would a politician be willing to bring forward in Parliament? Would a politician be willing to bring forward a law that would ban all abortions? Would a politician be willing to bring forward a law that was not strongly supported by public opinion?

What about incremental or gestational law, is it a compromise? Should we save some babies when we can't save all babies? Does a gestational law give us something we don't have now? Does a gestational law introduce a new evil or limit an evil? Do we want to place some of the unprotected babies into the protected class?

What is the next step? How do we get support from Canadians and from the media for legal restrictions on abortion? What is our ultimate goal? How do we get there?

Listen to CCBR's podcast on abortion law: Jonathon Van Maren, Stephanie Gray, and guest Mike Schouten of We Need A Law.

Mike Shouten quotes Clark Forsythe, president of Americans United for Life, who said in an essay called "Is it immoral to be prudent?"
"Prudent political leaders must pursue a vision of complete justice - of complete legal protection for human life. But, in the democratic process, they must pursue the ideal in such a way that progress is made and with the willingness to accept something when all is not achievable due to social, legal, or political obstacles beyond their control."

End the killing in our lifetime

This was in our Church bulletin today at the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Ottawa.

Good to see that Fr. Yves chose to do this. Choice. It's sometimes a wonderful thing.

"THE NEW ABORTION CARAVAN

This summer two dozen young adults travelled from Vancouver to Ottawa as, The New Abortion Caravan, an initiative of the Calgary-based Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR).

Along the way they gave presentations about the facts of abortion, and participating in "Choice Chains", using graphic images and engaging passersby in discussions about the harsh realities of abortion. The use of these graphic images is controversial even within the pro-life movement, but CCBR explains how their presentation is well-researched, based in history and the effectiveness of graphic images in changing public opinion about various historical injustices.

The website addresses the issue of the use of graphic images in fighting the war on abortion. The CCBR presenters stated that, The New Abortion Caravan, was just the beginning of the "End the Killing" youth movement's campaign. Their goal is to end the killing of preborn children in Canada "in our lifetime."

It's the message

Open letter to the Canadian Media,

I attended an important event Monday July 2, 2012. It was in Ottawa and it marked the end of the New Abortion Caravan campaign.

I wish you would have been able to attend.

This group of young, energetic Canadians from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (led by Stephanie Gray and Jonathon Van Maren) have set a deadline of 18 years, for the pro-life movement to end the killing of preborn children in Canada.

CCBR has a vision and strategy to do it. I hope you watch the presentations. The words "history in the making" spring to mind.

Here is a short compilation video.

And the full presentations.

These people are peaceful, compassionate, and dare I say it, full of humility. They are also very committed to their goal.

CCBR believes abortion to be the social justice issue/human rights issue that cannot be ignored any longer.

They speak the truth with compassion. They tell us that Canada's killing fields of abortion will end. They are already changing hearts and minds of people, one person at a time. They will continue to do so.

The truth is a powerful tool in this battle to stop the killing of preborn children. Stephanie quoted Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher (1788 - 1860):
"Truth passes through three stages. First - it is ridiculed. Second - it is violently opposed. Third - it is accepted as being self-evident."

There were the expected pro-abortion protesters who did their best to prevent the guests from driving into, or out of the parking lot where the presentation took place. These people engaged in the usual angry, loud and intimidating chants.

I think these protesters are afraid of CCBR's message. They didn't want anyone else to hear it either. So they did the only thing they know how to do. They lashed out. Sadly, they can't handle the truth. I think they are afraid of it.

All of this, just as we learned this week from a nationwide survey commissioned by Postmedia News and Global TV, that 60% of Canadians would support a law that places limits on when a woman can have an abortion during her pregnancy, such as during the last trimester.

The evening marked the end of the beginning [of the New Abortion Caravan]. It also marked the beginning of the end [of the 18 year campaign to end the killing of preborn children].

I hope you watch the presentation. It may change your mind about abortion.

CCBR in Ottawa July 2, 2012, Highlights

Below is a video with highlights from CCBR's final presentation in Ottawa, July 2, 2012.

And here is an excerpt of a letter written in the Toronto Daily Star May 19, 1970, after the the old Abortion Caravan's Toronto Rally:

"Consummate actresses that we are, if we women keep pushing and screaming, we shall succeed in pulling off the most stunning piece of legislation ever. Abortion on demand.

A stroke of the pen, and absolute power over life and death is ours. What a heady triumpth, Why I can almost taste the glory. Even God will envy us."
